Silent Cry

“Silent Cry”

I’m silently crying, shedding silent tears.

Why must I be different from others?

Why can’t I hear the voices of my peers?

I wanted to learn how to play music

But it only brought me down

I couldn’t hear music

I hear no melody, no sound.

Words hurt, but I can’t hear.

Silence pains me, especially when I’m alone.

You hurt me with the actions you’ve shown.

Just because I’m different doesn’t mean I’m different inside.

Just because I cannot speak doesn’t mean I’m simply just a child.

I open my mouth, no words are formed.

I held out my hand, no one took it.

Helpless, useless, a lone tear fell from my cheek.

I never thought that one could be so weak.

Behind those clouded eyes, can you see the real me?

I’m not different from you though I have no sight.

I’m not different though I cannot hear.

I’m as strong as you in this fight.
