Who You Are

“Who You Are”

I guess you now know what this is about

This is something to show you

How much you are in doubt

If you think the “you” you are now is not enough

Then think of those times when you smiled

Those times you laughed from your heart

Those times when you spoke your mind

“Am I perfect enough?”

“Am I pretty?”

A few things you think about when

You stand in front of the mirror

When you come to school

You walk alone along the corridor

You think that you’re not needed

That you are worthless

You think that you’re not known

But you still have the real you that have not yet to be shown

You say give up before you get hurt

You say that not seeing is to not believing

But sometimes the right choice is to listen to your heart

I know it is hard to ignore the pain

I know it is hard to go on fighting

But you have to endure it

Sometimes you have to pretend that you’re okay

For somebody to not feel down

Sometimes you have to smile and hide your frown

This doesn’t mean you’re losing

This doesn’t mean you’re giving up

This just means you’re strong

That you won’t back down
