Hold me close,

Let’s just dance.

Lay your hand in mine,

Let’s join hands.

Slow and steady,

Hold me close to you.

Lay your gaze in only mine

It’s not midnight yet,

Don’t think about the time.

Guide me across the dance floor,

Let’s just dance until the time the ball lasts.

“Tick tock” the clock went.

The minute arms almost 12 past.

I ran away, leaving you dumbfounded.

My shoe got lose,

I, too, left it there,

“Who cares? It’s just a silly shoe.”

Not looking back,

I left it there and away.

“Before the clock strikes twelve, you must be home”

I know, I know.

I should really go.

I got home and went to my room.

“Oh Cinderella, why so gloom?”
