Gabriel is growing on me

Gabriel is growing on me. I decided to listen to my wise-ass sister's advice and give him a chance by trying to get to know him better.

Perhaps it's the distance, but we chat everyday and I'm starting to see a humorous, almost sweet side of him. We send playful gifs and funny memes throughout the day, and I even received a post-workout shirtless selfie.

To say this man is fine is an understatement. I've never seen a real life person with such a good physique. I've worked with athletes and their bodies fit in with their chosen sport; rugby players are big and bulky, long distance runners are lean and thin, James is toned, athletic and lean, otherwise he wouldn't fit into the cockpit of his Formula One car.

Gabriel is broad, muscular and ripped. He has an actual eight pack. I didn't even know that was possible. I mean of course I did, I've studied anatomy. But I thought the eight pack was a myth reserved for people with legend status like Leonidas and his other 299 warriors. You know which movie I'm talking about?!

Gabriel's personality is also unlike anyone I've come across.

He will wear a tailored suit to work, even if he's only doing surgeries all day. He's obsessively pedantic, working on a tight schedule and plans his entire day down to the last second. He makes time for exercise and meals because he can't function properly without either, and believes he can only get optimum mental performance with both. He preps for each surgery as if he's studying for an exam and won't allow anyone near his operating room if they haven't read the notes, articles and quizzes he's set out.

He's on a whole other level of being disciplined. And for someone like me, who tries to consciously and continuously hone in on her skills, it's extremely appealing.

But he's also kind and has empathy towards his patients, going to work on off days to check up on his patients, going the extra mile to ensure good rehabilitation. He's not the cut and dump kind.

Gabriel has a count of the number of patients who have died on his table... I think we all do. For me, I've always just accounted it to it being their time; you can't save everyone. But for Gabriel, it's a reminder that he can do better; it's something he really beats himself up about.

Our conversations are friendly, funny and quirky and just when things get too flirty, Gabriel performs his disappearing act.

I've got a few theories:
1) He's a virgin. Unlikely, but hey, stranger things have happened... like remember 2020? A whole year of stranger things.

2) He's gay. Sometimes people just need a safe space to come out.

3) He's a dominant. Highly likely due to him being an alpha male and with the amount of discipline he applies in all aspects of his life, it makes a compelling argument that he'd apply restraint in the bedroom, too.

4) He wants to be friends. Sometimes you just can't force a party... if the club ain't jumpin', it ain't jumpin'.

My mom woke me up to say the kids want to head down to the beach; it's only a short walking distance away. She and my sister are notorious for being early risers and busy bodies while on holiday, which is annoying as fuck, but really great because kids don't seem to want to sleep while on holiday either.
