Chapter seventeen

Michael's pov

The annoying alarm noise rang through the room "Mike? you awake?" I heard Luke mumble as he slowly got out of his bed, well at least he didn't fall out of it this time, I groaned "I think so? what time is it?" I asked and sat up "pfft.." Luke said and went over to get his phone that he left on the desk last night "seven, class is at eight..I think?" "shit" I said and got my phone out, I decided to take a morning selfie and post it on Instagram, following all the boys, they all followed me back almost instantly, well at least I know that Calum and Ashton are awake too and that Ashton didn't fall off the face of the planet after last night, I mentally reminded myself to look at his page later, not to be weird, I was just curious. "love it" I heard Luke say as I got a nofication that he liked my post, I got one telling me that Ashton liked it too, everyone now following each other thanks to my great post "I captioned it "sleepy student vibes 💙📚🎸" not too cringey is it?" I asked, Luke chuckled "nah it's great" and we both started getting ready "god I am so fucking nervous" "me too, well at least we got an hour" I replied, trying to ignore the first day nerves "exactly, will be nice to chill before class" I smiled, it definitely would be.

Chad and Brad being how they are, made some retarded noises while running up and down the flat, luckily they didn't say anything to any of us yet. The four of us were currently sitting down in the lounge, drinking coffee "so! I wonder what the teacher is going to be like? although I heard we've got loadsss of boring lectures to get through first before we can play anything" Luke said, looking pft about it and I don't blame him, Calum took a sip of his coffee "yeah hopefully he or she will be nice..I'm not looking forward to all the boring paperwork we have to do at the start" he said, Ashton hadn't really spoke this morning yet, just kept to himself and drank his coffee, maybe he was just tired or nervous? "well we could always help each other, have a group study session" I recommended "that's a great idea! don't you think Ash?" Luke asked while looking over to him who snapped out of his trance "huh? oh yeah definitely" he agreed, although I'm not sure if he even knew what we were on about. "Well" Calum said and looked at his watch "we better go" "yeah let's" I said and stood up, making sure that all the dirty cups got left on the table for the twin twats to clean up.

We made it to the lecture on time, luckily it wasn't that hard to find, we all sat next to each other which I thought was pretty damn sweet. The lecturer stood up from her desk and walked into the middle, looking at all of us before speaking "hi! you can call me Polly. I am your lecturer, I want you all to work hard in this class, I don't mess about. You want to make it as a musician? I need to see some hard work" I bit my lip nervously and nodded, glancing at the other lads that were also taking in Polly's information. She started making her way around the class and putting down big stacks of papers on everyone's desks, Jesus it was a lot. "Now, I want you all to fill in this paperwork, everything you know. This is your coursework that needs to be completed by the end of this week" "okay..miss..Polly..-ma'am!" I said and mentally slapped myself, god I sounded like a fool "just call me Polly, that will do" she said and chuckled "um..we have to do all.." Luke started to say and flip through the pages "124 sheets?" Jesus was there really that many sheets? fucking hell "yes, all by this week. Today I need the first ten pages done, so I can take a look and see the knowledge you all have. I like to get to know my students" she said and winked, um..she was just doing that as a joke right? I glanced at the boys, I could tell they were thinking the same as me which was 'what the fuck'.

Regardless, we all got on with our work, in a peaceful silence "oi Ashton! how we meant to shag later with all this work?!" a random girl, a few rows behind us shouted, resulting in everyone hearing, I looked at her like 'what the fuck' I can't believe she would shout something out like that and drop Ashton's name as well, Calum had a 😶 face whereas Luke looked like he was trying not to laugh. "shut up." Ashton said bitterly, looking extremely embarrassed "sorry! I'm really wet and you fuck super hard! half the class can tell you that!" woah woah woah, what the fuck? why is she full on exposing him right now? my eyes were still on Ashton who looked full of embarrassment and annoyance, I looked back at the random girl "Jesus shut up. There's no reason to expose him like that, he's here for the same reason as all of us, to be a musician." Polly glared at the student "get out. Now. I will not have that language in my class." "Pfffft!" she dramatically said and got up "I'll see you later Ash! remember we have that gang bang tonight as well!" she said before storming out, leaving the room in an awkward and deadly silence. Ashton let out a sigh and slumped in his seat, looking extremely 😶 "you're not really going to go are you? after she did that to you?" I muttered to Ashton "what a fucking idiot, pft to her. Crack on with your work to the rest of you that want to learn" Polly said and sat back down at her desk and going onto her computer. Ashton shrugged "yeah probably, it's not a big deal" he muttered back "Ashton" I said and sighed "chill with me later instead. Take your mind off it, you don't have to go" I said and started to get back to my work. I don't understand why he was doing this to himself, he clearly didn't want to so why is he? it baffles me, he didn't respond but I could see in the corner of my eye that he wasn't happy "alright, don't answer then." I muttered and continued to do my work "sorry alright?" "let's just..do this work.." I said, now wasn't the time to get into it. I noticed Luke and Calum exchange a look to eachother as to say 'did you hear that' referring to Ashton and I. "it's fine.. he's got to make his own choices, he can't live this way forever" I heard Calum whisper to Luke, Ashton heard as well and looked as though he felt.. shame? regret?

Thankfully that was the only hiccup that happened, three hours later the lecture was finally over. "you are dismissed! same time tomorrow, don't be late! as long as you do your work, you are free to do whatever you want" Polly said with a wink and chuckling again. No one seemed to find that remark funny, especially Ashton who just rolled his eyes and we all left the class. "Ash you're coming right? to get pizza from the cafeteria?" Calum asked "yeah.. I'll treat you mate, whatever you like" I said and gave him a gentle smile, hoping he didn't feel off with me from earlier "um..I'll catch you guys later" no, seriously he wasn't going to go off for a quickie or some shit was he? Luke frowned "aw really?" he said sounding disappointed and giving him a concerned look "please stay? she was a bitch anyways" I said "yeah..I heard they do a deal if you have pizza and a large Pepsi with curly fries! pweasseeee?" Calum said with puppy eyes "it won't be the same without you" Luke said and also gave Ashton puppy eyes. I could tell he was hesitant, like he was fighting with something in his mind "okay okay, I'll come" he said and cracked a small smile "whoo! atta lad!" Luke said with a grin and patted Ashton's shoulder, which followed to us all walking to the canteen with Luke and Calum walking slightly in front. We all knew there was more to the story to for him using his body for sex so much, that had become evident to us, but even though he doesn't seem to ready to tell us just yet, I'm sure he will when he's ready.

As we walked I put my arm around his shoulder and muttered so no one else could hear "there we go! that's the Ashton I want to see" he didn't reply, he seemed too wrapped up in his thoughts but he gave me a smile in response "I mean I can safely say pizza is better than sex" I said and chuckled, taking my arm away, I didn't want him to think I was being a weirdo "you should see my face when I eat it" I added, Ashton raised an eyebrow "oh yeah? I'll keep an eye out for that" "so what pizza do you like?" I asked, wanting to keep the conversation "eh, I'm not really bothered. You?" "as long as it has a shit load of cheese, me either" I said and laughed "but I'm glad we can do this today, because I can't do tomorrow or any Tuesday" I carried on but regretted it immediately, I should have shut up, I'm not ready for them to know about my counselling yet. Ashton looked at me "yeah?..any reason or?.?" Ashton slowly asked, I couldn't help but wonder if he thought about the time we bumped into each other for our sessions. I wanted to tell him, I really did, it felt like I needed to get this off my chest to him but I let nerves get the best of me and ended up lying instead "um.. just stuff..I need to do I guess." "Fair enough" I heard Ashton mumble but I was grateful for him not questioning it any further.

We made it to the canteen, I bought Ashton his food which he thanked me for, however he didn't eat much of it, barely any and he strangely went into the bathroom straight after..odd. We all decided to head back to our flat and just chill for a bit, we only had that one lesson today but fuck it drained us all "so we better get this coursework done.." Calum said and got his books out "I don't think I want to start to be honest" I admitted "me either" Ashton agreed and got up to go in the kitchen (it was an open space with a lounge and kitchen in one) whereas Luke sat down next to Calum, the both of them being responsible and getting on with their work. "Well..since they're cracking on, what shall we do? " I asked and walked over to Ashton who had already got out two pint glasses and started pouring it to the top with wine, neither of us seemed to give a shit that it was literally early afternoon, uni life am I right? "aye!" I said, liking this idea very much "cheers" he said and held his glass out "cheers!" I said back, letting our glasses making a clinking noise as they touched together "ah Ashton what the hell..let's get fucking wasted!" I said, even though I'm pretty sure these pint glasses of wine was already going to do enough damage as it was, Ashton started drinking and already topped up his glass "wayy ahead of you Mike" "oi not possible!" I said and started to down my pint glass "rude!" Ashton said and started downing his drink as well, this was going to be an interesting experience but I can proudly say that I was excited to be spending quality time with Ashton.
