ADULTHOOD

In a haste we were to dumb off childhood,
We hastily set out on a race against time,
A race that would take us faster to adulthood,
A race where we would have opportunities to reach our prime.

Our ambitions lead us on,
Our thoughts set us off,
Ideas we have about adulthood is spot on,
The fun part of it all makes our ideas some cool stuff.

Adulthood is achieved,
Reality is accomplished,
Is this the adulthood with which our thoughts were conceived?
Either this is the reality or it's being distinguished.

The struggle is always real,
The burden is skyrocketing with every passing day,
It seems childhood was actually the real deal,
It's rather too late now and this is our price to pay.
