SOBER
The sky showered heavily on me,
I was all drenched in the tears of the rain,
Looked around to see who was there for me,
There was no one to help me start my unmoving train.
The tears have stopped and the sun is up,
I was nowhere near recuperating at all,
I’ve been made to drink from a broken cup,
All at the mercy of an unforeseen brawl.
The battle eclipsed the sun from the world,
I was a warrior battling for my life and survival,
Looked more like I would go down by the sword,
Impossible even for me to make it to the point of my revival.
The eclipse made way for the brightness of the full moon,
I’ve managed to win a battle and not a war,
What lies ahead isn’t too far from coming soon,
All that’d win me the war lies within the confidence of my roar.Temitope Omotoso
