We're baaaaaaack!" Scarlett sings as the airlock doors open.

Tyler sighs, shaking his head ,"only to find Auri. Then we're gone."

"We've been searching for seven months, Ty." Scarlett says, hands on hips as she walks out ,"we probably won't find her here."

"Aren't you supposed to be, y'know, happy?" Fin asks, raising a pale brow.

"Aren't you supposed to shut up?" Scarlett retorts.

"True, true."

"We should start in the place that Aurora knows." Zila announces, looking up from a Uniglass ,"start at Dariels apartment, the love motel and near Bianchis."

Tyler nods ,"good idea. Split up?"

"Last time we did that, Kal got shot and you got captured." Scarlett says ,"so no."

"Wasn't my fault." Saedii mutters, sidling up next to Tyler.

"Rrrrriiiiiiiiggggghhhhttttt." Tyler says, and chuckles ,"alright, lets go."

"What are you going to say, Kaliis?" Saedii asks an hour later in our native tongue ,"when we find Aurora?"

"If we find Aurora." I reply, tapping my Uni.

"If we find Aurora."

"Well..." I say, trailing off, in thought ,"It would depend on whether she would take me back. And if we find her."

"Then presume she would do those things. What would you say, Lissie."

"I told you I hate that name, Sade's."

"Exactly why I use it." Saedii grins ,"so? What is your answer?"

"I would tell her I missed her. And I'd tell her it's safe with us. I'd tell her that she can come back."

Saedii smiles gently ,"that is...good. It is good."

And spirits of the void, I find myself smiling back.

We've been at this for four hours, trudging through metal alleyways.

A loud clang comes from behind me, as well as a muttered curse.

"Hello? Whoever you are, show yourself." I call, and the others turn around.

"Hey, it's okay. You can come out." Scarlett encourages.

A small girl, about eleven or twelve, comes out from behind the metal. She has a shock of long, flaming red hair, and glittering blue eyes.

The girl wears a ratty grey shirt, with long, baggy pants and boots.

"Hi!" Scarlett almost cries.

"AURI!" The girl yells, turning back into the dark. 

A perfect thrill thrums in my bones at her name.

Aurora?
My Aurora?
Is she here?

"Cal's? What's going—" A voice calls from the dark.

A woman emerges, and her voice dies.

She has long, waist length ink-black hair, with a white streak cut into choppy bangs. Tanned and Star-speckled skin and rose-coloured lips.

Mismatched eyes.

She wears a blue-grey shirt with a Tank jacket over it, as well as ripped jeans and Mag-Boots.

"...Aurora?"
