Saedii Gilwraeth has never truly experienced love. She feels like she has, in the form of bruises left by her father, cold stares from her brother and indifference from her mother.

To her, that's what love was. And that was how she showed it, if she ever did. She showed it by hitting the back of her comrades of her starship. She shows it in the cold gazes that she gives her brother as they fight on the opposite sides of a senseless war. She shows it in a faked indifference towards Tyler Jones.

Really, she didn't want to live Tyler Jones, yet here she was, sleeping in his bed with his arms around her waist.

He showed Saedii what love truly was. Love to her now, was comforting after nightmares. Love to her was sneaking kisses at every opportunity. Love to her was warmth, and safety in Tyler's arms.
