Kaliis had always grown up with decay.
His parents LifeBond was decaying.
His sisters state of mind is decaying.
Everything, everything around him always ends up festering and withering as he watches.
He sits in his room, staring at a wall scattered with punch marks left as a parting gift from his father.
From those marks, he can't help but imaging almost black vines creeping across the wall, snaking up and through and across the floor.
They reach out and wrap around him, embracing Kaliis Gilwraeth in a cold, angry darkness that he will only associate with his father.
It festers in his mind as the years grow by, little by little it takes over him.
He keeps his identity a secret, falls prey to the shining white light of the pull, immersed himself in the purple that is 312. He has danced amongst the stars and kissed the sweetest lips and watches as blood flows.
But the vines that entrap his mind always, always win.
Scarlett screams, piercing the slow quiet hum of the engine. Zila watches as everything she thought she built falls to the floor. Finian is in disbelief, the only sound he emits is the whir of the exo suit he wears.
Aurora sends him away. Her dismissal hurts the most.
And so Kaliis is surrounded by decay once more.
