Adora's Pov

I ran in through the doors and up to the desk. "Hello how canI help you?" The lady asked. "I'm Adora Grayskull," I said. "Room 79" She said. I started power walking towards the room with tears in my eyes. I looked in and saw her lying there with tubes going into her mouth and nose. I saw how half of her was swollen and red. I saw how her left arm and leg were in a cast. I walked in and sat down crying. I looked up at the heart and it was beating steadily. Good she's alive at least. I sat there looking at her. "This is all my fault. If I hadn't wanted to lay under the stars with you all night, you would have left sooner, and you wouldn't be here right now." I started crying harder. It's my fault. It's all my fault. I scooted my chair closer to the bed and placed my hand in hers. "I'm so sorry Catra." I tightened my grip and sat there in silence. After a few hours a nurse came in and said "Are you Adora?" I nodded my head. "Well you were her emergency contact so I need to tell you what happened. Is that okay?" She asked. I nodded my head and turned the chair to face her. "Well Ms. Catra Weaver was hit by a car." My eyes widened and I put a hand over my mouth. "All that was found at the scene was a broken cardboard thing, her, and her motorcycle. Her helmet protected her brain and she only broke her leg and her arm. She fractured her neck and hit her head hard enough to induce a coma." The tears that had stopped all came flooding out. "I-Is she going alright?" I asked. The nurse got a sad look on her face and said "I'm sorry I don't know." I nodded my head and said "D-do yo-you have that cardboard." I asked. She nodded her head and asked "Why?" "Because I made that for her as a Christmas gift." I said. The nurse gave a small smile and said "I'll be right back okay?" I nodded my head and she left the room. I looked at Catra. Her short brown hair laying on her face made her look somewhat at peace. Like she was happy she got hit, but also sad because there was something she needed. She wants to die, but she found something she wants to live for. I gasped and held her hand because I didn't want to harm her even if she can't feel it, but I also wanted to comfort her. The nurse came in with a bad. She handed it to me and smiled. I looked at it and it was the mask broken into pieces. I looked up at her and said "Thank you." She nodded her head and left. My stomach rumbled and I looked at Catra. I sighed and said "I'll be back soon." I got up and headed towards the cafeteria. I got in line and bought a salad and a hard boiled egg. I also grabbed a water bottle. I paid and sat down to eat. Why did this have to happen? Why couldn't she have just stayed the night. Why did that guy have to be drunk? Why couldn't we have fallen asleep under the stars. Why did she have to go to work tomorrow. Why why why. I stood up and threw my food away before running towards the nearest bathroom. I pushed open the heavy, brown door and ran into the nearest stall. I locked the stall door and put my back against it before I slowly slid down towards the ground. I put my knees up to my face and wrapped my arms around them. I buried my head into my knees and started crying. I can't believe it. My girlfriend is in the hospital and I'm here on the floor crying my eyeballs out.
