Chapter 25: Thank You

Adora's POV

The days went by slow. I zoned in and out during school. Everyone was worrying about me and to be quite honest so was I. I stopped eating and started isolating myself. I couldn't sleep and would start crying at random points in the day. Angella and Micha tried to get me to eat but gave up after a while. My teacher's let me turn in work late probably because Angella told them to. Lunch at school was weird because after a week Scorpia and Bow would hold me down and Glimmer shoved food down my mouth. I also would go to the hospital after school everyday to see Catra and I would stay there as long as could. One day was worse than the others

"Guys no stop it!" I yelled as Scorpia and Bow pinned me down. "No Adora you need to eat." Glimmer says as she shoves a piece of an orange in my mouth. I try not to chew it, but Glimmer grabs my jaw and forces me to chew and swallow it. She repeats this action until the orange is gone. Bow and Scorpia release me and I sigh. "I'm sorry Adora I don't enjoy holding you down, but Glimmers right you have to eat." Scorpia says to me. "I know," I say as I sigh, "but I just can't think about anything but Catra." Everyone looks at me with frowns and sadness plastered across their faces. I stand up and walk to the bathroom. I don't notice the fact that I am being followed. I walk into the bathroom and hide in a stall. I want to cry right there but I don't because I hear a gentle knock. "Hey Adora you okay." It's Scorpia. "I'm fine" I lie. "you're not Adora. I don't know exactly what's going on in your head but I do know that much." I laugh a little and say " Yeah you're right. I'm not okay," I start crying, "I'm worried that something bad is going to happen to her. She might die, Scorpia. DIE!" I yell at her. I can hear sobs coming from the other side of the stall. "I'm worried too, but not about Catra. I'm worried about you Adora, we all are. You stopped eating. You never want to hang out anymore. You started skipping practice's." Scorpia says. "I know. It's bad but I just want to focus all my time and energy on Catra. I need her to come back. I don't think I could live without her." I tell her. There's a long pause before Scorpia says "Adora you don't need to worry about her. Catra always pulls through, no matter what, but you might not. Focus on yourself Adora, because when she wakes up, you're the first person she's gonna want to see." I hear her stand up. The door to the bathroom opens, but before it closes she says "You can talk to me, just take care of yourself alright," and with that the door closes leaving me alone in the highschool bathroom.

[Time skip to the Hospital]

I walk through the doors and into the waiting room. I check in with the lady at the front desk, even though she already knows who I am, because I've been coming here everyday at the same time for a month. When I'm allowed to go see her the nurse says "Oh there's somebody else here today." I walk over to the window and I see the white hair. I walk in and say "Scorpia?" She turns around and looks at me. "Oh hey Adora. I can leave if you want me to." "No," I shake my head. "You can stay, I want you to stay, but how did you get here faster than me. I drove here as soon as school ended?" She smiled and rubbed the back of her neck. "I skipped last period so that I could see her, but I wouldn't interrupt your time with her." I smiled for the first time in a while. "You were just telling me to focus on my studies and you're over here skipping an entire class." Scorpia laughs and says "I am actually focusing on my studies unlike a certain someone who keeps zoning out." I chuckle and hear my stomach rumble. "Hey Scorpia, want to get something to eat." I asked her. She pauses for a moment and nods her head. We get up and head to the cafeteria. We look around at the food and I have no idea what to eat, so I grab a salad and a hard boiled egg. She grabs a burger and a vitamin water. We sit down and I start eating. "So what made you change your mind?" Scorpia asks. I look up with a piece of lettuce hanging from my mouth and say "Hmm?". She laughs a little before saying "What made you want to eat today." I swallow my food and say "You guys were right I need to start eating. Catra would want me to be happy and if I die of malnutrition I can't be here for when Catra wakes up now can I?" Scorpia nods her head with a soft smile on her head. "That's right Adora. You need to be here for Catra when she wakes up because I know if you die I wouldn't be enough for her anymore." "what do you mean Scorpia?" I ask her. "Before you guys met each other Catra was always a loner. The only close friend she had was me, and even then she wouldn't tell me everything. Since you came into her life she says things look brighter. Like she can see more colors. She might not notice it, but she also branched out. She befriended Glimmer, Bow, Mermista, and so many more." Scorpia said with a bright smile on her face. "Wait Mermista?" I ask as I laugh. "Yeah she wasn't kidding when she said that Catra and her were gonna be good friends." Scorpia said. "So wait what did they do?" I asked her. "I dunno. Catra said something about messing with Sea Hawk and making him scream like a little girl." I chuckle and finish my food. "Thank you Scorpia this really cheered me up." No probl-" Scorpia and I turn in the direction of the noise that cut her off. Both of our eyes widen as we realize whats going on. "CATRA!" we yell in unison.
