Catra's Pov

I pulled up to an empty park and helped Adora off the bike. I walked over to a tree and sat down. Adora followed but looked confused when I sat down so I patted the ground next to me. She smiled and sat down next to me. We sat there in silence for a little bit. I took a deep breath and sighed. Adora looked over at me and asked "is something wrong Catra?" "No," I said. "Well then what's up?" She asked. "We need to talk," I said kinda glumly. Adora's eyes widened and she gasped. "Are you breaking up with me?" She asked as tears filled her eyes. I immediately shot up and said "No I would never do that." She smiled and said "really?" "Really." I told her. "Then what do we need to talk about. It sounds serious." She asked. "You know how you said you didn't know much about me?" She nodded her head. "Well I want to change that." I said. "Okay but why do you sound so serious?" She asked me. "Because I'm going to tell you things that I've never told anyone before." I said. She gave me a smile and said "Don't Tell me anything more than what you're comfortable with telling me. Okay?"

I nodded my head and began. " As you know I was raised in a foster home but the director wasn't the best person. Actually she is probably the worst person that you could ever meet. She would make me not anyone else go without food for days. She would make me do all the work around the house and would slap me if I did it incorrectly or if I didn't do it fast enough. If I messed up she would take me into the basement and beat me. She would take the thing that you use to stir the fire and burn me with it and if I did something really bad she would hit me in the legs with it and break them. She had this knife that she would use to cut me with. One time she brought home this weird taster and used me as her test dummy and another time she burned a word into my back when I passed out after not coming home for 3 days." Adora looked at me with her hand over her mouth. She looked concerned. She lowered her hand and in barely a whisper she said "can I see?" I nodded my head and turned around. She lifted my shirt up and I could hear her gasp. "W-why would anyone do this? Why did you let her do this?" She asked me as she started to cry. "Because she did this after she had beat me until I blacked out." I told her. She was already crying and it seemed like what I just said made her feel worse. "Y-you c-couldn't do anything." She said. I nodded my head and she hugged me. Once she pulled away she said "I'm so sorry that you had to go through that Catra." "It's fine Adora." I told her.

I'M SORRY PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR THIS

"NO IT'S NOT." She yelled. "SHE BROKE YOUR LEGS, TASED YOU, CUT YOU, BEAT YOU, AND WORST IF ALL SHE BURNED THE WORD DYKE INTO YOUR BACK." She yelled. I started to cry and she immediately changed her expression from one of anger to one of regret. "Catra I'm sor-'' she said. "No" I cut her off. "Catra'' Adora said as her voice broke. "You're right it's not okay but it's normal to me." I said. She didn't say anything, she just looked at me. "I have more to tell you." I said. She scooted closer to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "When I was in middle School I met a girl. Her name was Alex. We bonded and over time, and she became my best friend. One night she called me and asked if I wanted to go to the beach with her and I accepted. I said see ya and hung up. The next day on the news they were filming a car wreck on the stretcher and Alex. She was dead." I started to cry again. "I attended the funeral and when I made my speech I talked about how she invited me to the beach and how I didn't even get to say goodbye because I said see ya. After that her dad walked up to me and yelled saying I was the reason she was dead and he made me leave. I ran to the foster house crying. Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio got adopted and Rachel moved out so I was alone. I wanted to be alone anyways." I said. Adora turned my face to face hers. She looked me in the eyes and said " It wasn't your fault Catra. It wasn't anyone's fault. You must know that if anyone is to blame it would be the person who hit her. Do you understand? It's not your fault." I nodded my head and said "I know, but I still feel like it's my fault. I haven't been to the beach or even looked at pictures of the beach since that day and I hate water because it reminds me of the beach." Adora gave me a sympathetic look and said "Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me all of this."

I smiled a pained smile and said" Thank you for listening Adora and of course I trust you you're my girlfriend." "No problem and if you ever want to tell me something else I'll always be here and I won't judge." There is something I want to tell you but I'm not ready yet. I nodded my head and stood up. I pulled out my phone and put on welcome to the club because it had a catchy beat. I turned the volume up all the way and set it against the tree. I grabbed Adora's arm and pulled her up. "What are you doing?" She asked me. "You said you wanted to dance right. So let's dance." I said. She laughed but grabbed my shoulders. I grabbed her waist and we started to dance. "so you can dance huh?" I said. "You bet I can kitty." She said. Oh I am not going down because of that. "Kitty huh? So we're doing names now cutie?" I said with a smirk. "Aww you think I'm cute? Thanks sweetie." She said while smiling. She threw me out and pulled me back so I landed with my back to her. I titled my head and looked at her as I said "Well I don't know if I'm sweet but what I do know is that my view is sweet." Adora blushed and didn't talk until we finished dancing. "So what do you want to do now, Blondie." I asked her. "I don't know it's kinda late, maybe I'll go home." She said. "Wait Adora are you upset?" I asked her. "No," she said. "Then why do you want to go home? It's only 9." I asked her. "Really? It's pretty dark." She said looking up. I grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the tree and my bike. "Catra what are you doing?" She asked. I layed down and said "Look up, the stars are visible. They are almost never visible." Adora looked up and said "Woah you're right." "Yeah I am. Now lay down" I said. She laid down next to me and I grabbed her hand and intertwined her fingers with mine. She looked over at me but quickly turned her head back to the stars. "They're beautiful aren't they?" Adora said. "Yeah. almost as beautiful as you." I said. She giggled a little and said "You know that's over right? I blushed and you won so you can stop now." "I know it's over but it doesn't make anything I said untrue and it doesn't mean that I can't compliment you" I said. "What did I do to deserve you?" Adora said. "What?" I asked her. "What did I do to deserve someone as kind and sweet as you?" She said. I laughed and said "That's what I want to know." "Huh?' Adora said. "I am not sweet and kind, in fact I am a jerk who has built their walls up really high and tries to hit the people who try to break it or climb it with rocks so they fall and stop. You are kind, sweet, caring, and amazing. You care about everyone's feelings, and are there for them when they need you. Honestly you're way out of my league and I don't deserve you." Adora grabbed my head and placed her forehead against mine before she said " Catra you can be defensive, but you're allowed to have walls after everything you've been through. When you let people into those walls you let them see the real you and the real you is kind, sweet, caring, and protective. You're not a jerk you're amazing " I wanted to cry but didn't. She really cares about me. "I'm glad you think that even if half of it isn't true." I said as I took my forehead off of hers and turned back to look at the stars. Adora scoffed and turned back to the stars. "Thanks," she said. "For what?" I asked her. She tightened her grip on my hand, not that I minded and said "for tonight. I had fun." "We didn't do anything Adora. All we did was hang out at a party for a little bit, talked, danced, and we are now staring at the stars." I told her. "Yeah exactly. We did that and everything is more fun when I'm with you." She said. "Yeah I feel that way with you. Things as simple as talking are more fun with you and ever since I met you the world has just been so much... I don't know... brighter." I told her. She scooted close to me and leaned her head on my shoulder. We sat there for a while just like that. Her head on my shoulder, laying in the grass, while holding hands.
