Part 39

It was a three hour drive, so after about an hour my dad stopped at a restaurant next to the road. FP- I think we can have lunch here. Je- yea! J- betts, baby wake up. I rubbed her cheek with my hand and she slowly opened her eyes. B- hmmm? J- were going to have lunch here. And I pointed at the restaurant. B- oh okay. She smiled and got up. We got in the restaurant and ordered our lunch, Betty and I both were t really hungry so we shared a grilled cheese and some fries. We were done before jelly and my dad so we decided to go to the little shop next to the restaurant. We walked in and Betty said B- what do your grandparents like? J- what do you mean? B- like flowers or something? I want to bring them a present. J- ahw you're so sweet. I pulled her closer to me and kissed her softly. B- juggg just answer my question! some flowers babe, my grandma's favorite flowers are roses. B- okay then I'll get those.

She got roses and paid for them. Then jellybean and my dad walked in Je- hey Betty you got flowers? B- yes they're for your grandparents FP- that's nice if you betty, they're gonna love them. She smiled and we got back in the car.

The rest of the car ride was pretty boring, we played some simple games and talked about some random stuf. About two hours later we arrived at the family cabin. Our grandparents car was already in the driveway, my aunt and uncle hadn't arrived yet. Jellybean and I jumped out of the car and ran to our grandparents. As soon as they saw us they hugged us. I walked over to Betty. J- uhm, grandpa, grandma this is Betty, she's my girlfriend B- hi, I uhm I got you flowers. She handed my grandma the flowers Gm- wow roses, my favorite B- jug helped me pick them out. Gp- well it's great to meet you betty. They hugged her, then we got our luggage and walked in. J- Betty I'll show you around, you can stay with me in my room. We walked off but I could still hear my grandparents talk Gm- FP you let them stay in one room together already? FP- yea, well they've been together for a while and they sort of live together. Gp- what do you mean? FP- it's a long and complicated story but Betty couldn't stay at home anymore and she doesn't have any family so now she's staying with me jug and jelly. Gm- what about Gladys? FP- I uhm, I divorced her, she hurried the kids and was terrible to them Gm- I knew that woman was bad news FP- I know now too, I should've listened to you. Gm- well she's gone now, and I

think Betty is a nice girl, I can see how she makes jug smile and seeing him happy is all I need Gp- yes I think they really belong together.

I showed Betty our room B- wow it's big J- yea it is. B- do you come here every year? J- yea, normally we do but last year we didn't go. B- oh.

I was late in the afternoon when my aunt and uncle arrived, and surprisingly they had a little boy with them, he looked like he was about 2 years old. J- aunt Angela (lol this is just a random name lmao),  uncle frank(original names lol), who is this little guy?

A(Angela)- well, jug, jelly this is your cousin. Je- ahw he's so cute! What's his name? F-(frank)- this is little James J- hey James, ahw he's such a cute little guy. Ja(James)- hi. J- ahw hello James, I'm jughead. Ja- jug? J- yea you can call me jug. Jellybean played with James for a while. A-

hello, who are you? She asked Betty B- hey, I'm Betty I'm jugheads girlfriend. I wrapped my arms around her from behind. J- my beautiful girlfriend F- well it's nice to meet you betty, will you be staying here too? B- uhm yea if that's okay F- ofcourse it is! I'd love to get to know my nephews girlfriend better A- yea me too! Nice to meet you Betty. Then James crawled to Betty and hugged her leg B- ahw hi James. Ja- pwetty guwl A- I think he likes your girlfriend jughead J- no no James she's mine. I smiled. Ja- up! up! B- do you want me to pick you up? Ja- ye! Betty picked him up and he immediately wrapped his little arms around her Ja- play! Play with pwetty guwl! B- okay let's okay. She set him down and they started playing with a little toy car. J- wow he's good with strangers A- yea, he is. I'm happy you like him. J- he's so cute. I sat down next to Betty and jelly sat down too. We all started playing with James' toy cars.

FP- Angela, frank why didn't you tell me you had a baby? A- we wanted it to be a surprise. FP- well, he is very cute.

Jugheads little cousin James really liked me for some reason, so me and jughead played with him until it was dinner time. I helped jugheads grandma making spaghetti and when it was done we ate all together.

At the dinner table

Gm- so Betty, I heard you're living with your boyfriend, I wish I was that lucky when I was your age B- uhm, yea it's complicated. Gp- why aren't you living with your parents? Jughead put his hand on mine J- you don't have to tell Betts. I smiled at him B- it's okay, my parents

couldn't take care of me... Gm- why not? B- uhm, well my uhm my mom and dad used to hit me... and uhm.. I felt tears coming up. J- ahw baby it's okay come here. He pulled me closer to him. B- *sniffles* then I, we went to the police and uhm they arrested my parents and uhm now I live with jug... jugheads grandma laid her hand on mine Gm-I'm sorry for asking Betty, I didn't know. B- it's fine.

We finished eating, I helped cleaning the table. After that we watched tv together and jug and I went to bed. I was still a little nervous about sleeping somewhere else but jug was really sweet and comforted me. We cuddled close and fell asleep.
