I woke up to a text from Ryan saying he misses me and is sorry he can't be with me right now. I wish he didn't worry about it so much, I do miss him a lot but I understand the situation. Hopefully, my reply made him feel better, I sent a long text reminding him that I love him and telling him how grateful I am to have him in my life. After a quick shower, Maddy and I decided that shopping would make us feel better. Emma said she'd meet us at my house later after work.

We spent a lot of time in our favorite store trying on tons of clothes. My body hasn't changed yet, it's way too early to step into maternity clothes since I'm only 9 weeks along but I figured I would get a few loose tops. I bought a few items for Maddy to show my gratitude for spending time with me.

"Oh! Ella! Look they have a Baby Gap!" Maddy squeals.

"Aww! I'm not sure, it's kind of early..." I don't why I'm hesitant but I'm not ready to buy baby items just yet.

"I know but we can just look, please?" She gives me puppy eyes.

"Alright, but we're not getting anything!" I try to sound stern.

I find myself melting over all the cute baby outfits reaching for a blue PJ set while Maddy shows me a cute pink dress. "What is it with people thinking I'm having a girl?" I find a little outfit, the shirt has a shark on it and the bottom is made of jeans material. It's so adorable! I can't seem to be able to put it back on the rack.

"Why don't you get it?"

"Because we still don't know what I'm having and it's early!" I whisper back.

"Can I help you with anything?" The sales lady comes over to us.

"Oh no, thank you!" I say quickly.

"Wait, are you Ella Faulkner Taylor?"

"I am, yes," I smile at her.

"Oh! Congrats!" She squeals.

"It's not for me, I'm shopping for a friend!" I can't let the world know I'm pregnant.

"I see, sorry! I shouldn't have assumed it! Tell Ryan he's very talented!" she apologizes.

"No worries, I will. He'll be happy!"

Maddy and I practically ran out of the store. She felt bad about us going in there in the first place, my poor friend! It wasn't her fault. Life is a little different when you're married to someone famous. Although he would argue he's not that famous. My husband is humble and doesn't realize how amazing he is. Thinking about him makes me sad, wishing he was here makes me look at pictures of him on my phone. That one shot from his birthday where he's playing pool always makes me smile. What happened on that pool table makes my cheeks turn red.

Emma called to say she would meet us at the house in an hour with pizza. My friends are truly the best in the world, always there when I need them. Maddy and I were exhausted after our shopping spree and so grateful for food when Emma got there. We all sat down at my kitchen table to have dinner.

"So how does it feel to be pregnant?" Emma asks me.

"Surreal. I'm happy. I just don't think I fully realize it's happening."

"I guess you didn't plan for it and the whole scare about fertility didn't help!" Maddy adds.

"Right. We talked about having children in a few years but we just got married and we still don't have a house. He has two more movies and other modeling contracts in the next year. How am I going to manage taking care of our baby when he's away all the time? I don't want it to affect our marriage either! I feel like everything went by so fast! I love him so much, I don't want to lose that special bond between us!" By the end of my rant, my friends are looking at me worried. "Fuck! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to go all dramatic."

"No, it's fine! I understand. You're right, everything happened so fast. But don't forget all the progress you've made since you met him!" Emma squeezes my hand tenderly.

"Alright, no more pity party, let's watch a movie!" I suggest trying to lighten the mood.

Once the movie ends, I call it a night. Maddy and Emma are sharing the guest's room. I text Ryan quickly.

-Goodnight babe, love you xoxo

-Almost done working and was hoping to hear your voice :(

-You can try, I might hear the phone.

-I love you xoxo

Two hours later, I wake up to my phone ringing.

"Hello?" I say in a sleepy voice.

"Baaaby! I'm sorry I just had to hear you!"

"Mmm mmm," I mumble.

"You looked beautiful in the picture you posted earlier," he says, seductively.

"Thanks, I miss you,"

"I miss you more! Go back to sleep, I love you."

"Love you!" I hang up before rolling back to sleep.
