"Hey, Em! When was the last time you spoke to Ella?" I called Emma on my break. "I tried calling her but she hasn't answered since she left you. I'm worried," she confirms my suspicions. "Fuck! Could you try to stop at our house? I'm sorry to ask but I won't be home for another 4 days and I can't let her hide from us," I beg her. "Of course, I'll stop after work and update you later," she says before getting off the phone.
Adam, a guy who's been helping me learn techniques so I can play my role as accurately as possible walks to me. We've been training all day and we're both exhausted but we need to work on one more thing before we call it a day. He's showing me how to take someone down from behind. I have a double for stunts but I will do a lot on my own as well. It's been demanding on my body but also satisfying, I loved learning more about being an officer. An hour later, Adam tells me we're done for the day.
Still feeling pumped and stressed out because Ella has been so distant, Cooper and I head to the gym at the hotel. I work out until I feel like I'm going to pass out. I discovered that training instead of thinking about drinking is very helpful. I felt the urge to drink after Ella left. I guess the build-up of hearing the details of what Jake did to her body, the damn tape, and her leaving for a few days was a lot for me. But Cooper suggested I work out with him and it helped my mind. He has been good at being professional yet caring.
Once I'm in my room, I start going over the script. We won't shoot for another three weeks but I've been loving getting into the mind space of my character. Plus it's a distraction until Emma gets back to me.
A while later, Emma finally calls me. "I promised her not to say anything that would worry you," She starts the conversation with. "Em, her telling you not to say anything is what worries me. You girls can share secrets but she's obviously not doing well!" I bark at her. "Don't get mad! She's seeing her therapist tomorrow, I'm also seeing her again. She said she'll ask Max to run errands for her so we can have dinner together," She explains. "Sorry! I'm just worried, you know how much I love her. I appreciate you taking care of her," I sigh. "I know you guys are perfect for each other, don't worry. She'll be okay. Have a good evening," I thank her before hanging up the phone.
The next day, I couldn't stop myself from trying to call Ella, she dodged my call by texting me that she was going to see her therapist and she was late. I let out an exasperated sigh while sitting in the SUV on my way to the studio. I love her so much and I only want to be there for her. I guess I'll try to be patient, not my stronger trait.
Adam literally beat me up all day. I'm sure I'll have bruises all over. Again I get to the hotel and ask Cooper if he wants to hit the gym with me. My body is sore but I welcome the pain. I've always liked to exercise and play sports but I'm really pushing myself now. Cooper tells me he's done after a while and we go back to our rooms calling it a night.
Ella texted me again saying she misses me. I wish she would just talk to me, I miss hearing her voice. I reply knowing I can't push too much when she's in a vulnerable state. She surprises me by replying with a picture of herself in bed, she's wearing too many clothes for my liking but it makes me happy to see her. The spark in her eyes is missing though. I snap a picture for her before we exchange our good night.
