Chapter 58

I'm happy to be in Vancouver at the same hotel in the same room. I only wish he didn't have to work so we could be together all day. I brought my laptop to work on my projects while he's out filming. Max was kind enough to go get me Starbucks, I told him to get something for himself too.

-Hey you! Can we have a group video chat tonight after Ryan gets back to the hotel? Emma sends me.

-Sure! Might be late for you guys though, should I text when he gets here?

-Yes and I'll get Maddy and Sam to join us.

I wonder what's going on. She's been kind of quiet lately. We never really explained the details of what happened when Ryan rescued me that day. It's been two weeks already and I feel like everyone has been dealing with it privately. I tried to reach out to Maddy asking if she needs help with wedding preparations but she said we could talk about it soon. I'm looking forward to seeing their faces and talking to them tonight. I send a quick text to Ryan to inform him as well.

I then get a call from Mr. Samuels telling me they're opening yet another office, in Vancouver this time. He asks me if I can help with the training of new employees just like I did in Calgary. He knows we had to have Jake arrested two weeks ago and he apologizes for me having to go through it. I thank him for the offer and ask if I can think about it. With all that happened in the past few weeks, even months, I need time to really figure out what I want to do. He agrees, asking me to give him an answer in a week or so. He reminds me of what a great job I've been doing before hanging up. I'm grateful for his kind words but I can't help being overwhelmed.

I try to keep on working but I can't seem to concentrate so I text Max telling him I need to go out. "It's about to get awkward!" I think to myself knowing I want to go buy lingerie but Max has to keep an eye on me. Once we got there, I got him to stand outside the store. I wasn't about to let him see what I'm buying.

I decided to shower so I could shave and put on some of the new items I bought. I figured Ryan might enjoy it after being deprived for weeks. I now feel better and I'm ready for him to make love to me. I go with the black bustier made of lace and satin. I put on my pajamas on top for now knowing we have to video chat with our friends. The next thing I know it's dark outside when Ryan sends me a text to confirm he's on his way. I then text Emma and Maddy to let them know we'll be able to chat soon.

He walks into the room looking so good all dressed in black, his hair is pulled back, his green eyes are bright when he sees me laying in bed with my phone. "He's so sexy!" I feel my heart rate go up already. He walks to me before climbing in bed. "Oh, I know that look." Somehow he seems to know I'm feeling way better today, no pain whatsoever. He's about to reach me when I hop down. "No! Emma wants to talk to us, might be important, do NOT touch me," I playfully tell him. "Let me kiss you," he pouts. "Nope! Come here, let's talk to them." I know if I let him kiss me, I'm going to give in. Still pouting he sits with me on the couch.

Everyone gets on camera, I set my phone on a tripod in front of us. Emma and Trevor are looking nervous for some reason. After greeting each other, Emma starts talking.

"We have some news. We originally planned on telling you in California but... " She looks down.

"Yeah, Emma has been nervous about telling you," Trevor adds and I wonder what's going on.

"Come on just tell us, you know you can trust us," Maddy says.

"It's not bad, it's just weird timing because of everything that happened. So anyway..." She holds a picture up. An ultrasound picture.

"You're pregnant!" I clap my hands excitedly.

"Ella, Ryan, I...umm..." Emma trails off, I know what she's trying to say.

"Em, it really sucks that we lost the baby but we're happy for you guys. Trevor that's why you were acting so weird when Sam told us about the ring right?" Ryan says.

"Oh my god, yeah, I thought he was scared of getting married or something," Sam laughs.

"Well Emma was going to announce it and then you know she thought it wasn't the right moment. And you stole the show with your shiny ring," Trevor teases him.

We talk about the baby for a while, Emma is due in November, she's nervous but excited. We tease Trevor reminding him he has to put a ring on it. Maddy and Sam talk about wedding plans for next year they're thinking of July. Ryan and I then exchange a look silently deciding to explain what happened when he got to the house where Jake was keeping me. I'm still not ready to share what happened when I was alone with Jake. Ryan doesn't even know every detail. Maddy cries when Ryan says I went into shock which scared him. Trevor tries to lighten the mood joking about us giving Ryan an oscar. My friends are understanding and non-judgemental only offering their love and support. Ryan surprises me when he tells them about us seeing his biological father in prison. I'm happy to hear him say he's glad I convinced him to go even if I wasn't trying to, just there to support his decision. He says that he's willing to try and do what it takes to get rid of all the built-up hate he's been hiding inside. Emma says she needs to talk to her doctor to see if flying to Greece soon as we had originally planned is still safe. Maddy eventually says it's getting late and she needs to sleep if she wants to make it to work on time tomorrow. Although we all know she'll stop at Starbucks and be late. We all get off the phone after saying our goodnights.

"Babe, can we talk?" I turn to face him sitting cross-legged. I'm a little anxious about it although I know he'll understand. "Of course, what's up? Well, I am, but..." he winks, I give him a little push on the chest laughing but I can't help gazing over his bulge. "Could we live off of your salary for a while?" I ask softly. "Ella, you know the answer! What's going on?" He looks surprised by my question. "Well, Mr. Samuels told me about a new office in Vancouver, he wants me to help again but I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. I don't think I enjoy my job as much anymore. I'm wondering if I could take time for myself, find a new passion maybe? Just enjoy life because things have been crazy for almost two years now." I look at him to see his reaction. "We can manage just fine, do whatever makes you happy, baby! Why would you even ask if it's okay?" He says. "I didn't want to assume, it's kind of a life decision you know. You've been amazing to me and I don't want you to think I'm just going to sit here and spend your money!" I explain. "Ella, I know you're not like that! You've been through a lot, I get it if you need time. I want you to do something you love and that makes you happy," He smiles. "You're so understanding, I'll find a way to thank you," I tell him. "I know how you could thank me," he brings my hand to his crotch. "You're doing better, right? I noticed your reaction when I walked in, dressed in black, your favorite color on me. Your breathing increased, your eyes were undressing me," His accent is doing wicked things to me, I nod unable to find my voice right now. "Should I make you scream my name while you come on my cock?" He breathes into my ear. A shiver runs through my whole body. Again, I can only nod.
