The bathroom door opened and there my father stood looking healthy as ever, his handsome face being exactly how I remembered despite his now chiseled black and grey beard.

"Hi princess," He greeted walking towards me while I walked backwards bumping into the dresser.
I waited for months for this day to come, to see him talk to him, ask him why he neglected me, but right now right here in this moment I felt nothing but anger.
"Don't come any closer," I said, holding my hand out. My eyes began to water uncontrollably and I tried my hardest not to let a tear fall.
"I know you're upset with me but I can explain everything if you'd let me." I shook my head. "There's no explanation for this, you couldn't possibly explain this." I argued, "and what is this anyway, are y'all getting back together or something?" I questioned looking at my mother. She stood there with the same stupid look on her face. They couldn't even be straight with me and that angered me ten times more.
"Oh, I see whats going on." I chuckled, "I'm out," I walked out the room leaving them there. "I'm sorry y'all but I need to go, now." I said as Khalil eyed me.
"Why what's wrong?" He asked walking over to me. "I'll explain everything at another time, but right now I need to be as far away from here as possible." I repeated. "and by the way, just an FYI I'm pregnant." I blurted dramatically just as my parents entered into the living room.
I walked outside getting into the car feeling the warm tears that I had been holding in fall. I felt like the same little girl crying because her daddy didn't come home to her.
"Talk to me mama," Khalil said opening the door before getting in.
"I just- likehow you just show up and act like everything is normal again? Where have you been all this time and why did you decide that now, and not months ago was a good time to come back."
"Did you give him the chance him talk?" He asked looking at me, "better yet, don't even answer that. I know you didn't so, wipe your eyes and put your big girl panties on. If you want answers they're right inside that house." He pointed flicking my lip.
