I sat on the couch unwinding and watching a random tv show on Bet. I had a long day of unboxing things that my supporters had gifted me with the previous week but was just now making it to my P.O box, which happened to be flooded with packages. So much so that they had to call me to retrieve them.

I made sure to gather enough footage to shout out as many people as I could especially the black owned businesses. I hated receiving things for free rom my people which is why I would always shout them out so that they could gain more clientele.

It was the least that I could do for the generosity.

I was still on a high from receiving my third plaque. I really never had to work a normal job ever again and if I had anything to do with it— my loved ones wouldn't either. I was set for life.

I jumped at the sound of my doorknob turning because I wasn't expecting company. I was relieved when I realized it was only Khalil.

"Hey bestie we-,"I hopped up from the couch mid sentence. As he got closer I noticed his face was bloody.

"What the fuck happened to your face?" I exclaimed,

Ignoring me, he walked into the kitchen to retrieve an ice pack placing it onto his face. I always made sure to have some readily available because he would always come here beaten up in the past before I made it clear that his work life needed to be separate from me and I wanted no dealings or involvement whatsoever.

Before, I would always think that I'd hate to see the other person because I'd seen Khalil fight before and it was never pretty. Over the last few months it had slowed down a lot so I was surprised all over again.

I scrunched my face up at him not cleaning his wounds first before applying the icepack to his face.

Men.

"Did you not hear me talking to you," I badgered walking up to him and grabbing his face making him wince.

He stared at me with lustful eyes, as if he could take me right here, right now. He leaned down, kissing me passionately and I kissed him right back. I sucked on his tongue as I pulled away and pecked him once more. He had caught me off guard, snapping back into reality with the quickness I frowned slightly.

"We can't do this you know you have a girlfriend-I don't want you to cheat," I mumbled almost incoherently.

He nodded walking away from me taking his place on the couch going to Netflix. He hadn't spoken a word since he got here.

I assumed something had went down while he was out doing business— but it was late and he never did business at this hour.

I sat down next to him mentally searching for answers, coming up with nothing. I wanted to know how he got injured but I didn't wanna keep pressuring him. He would only get frustrated with me and we'd end up arguing. I stared at him examining his beautiful face.
