Chapter 27: True Guardians

The two cocoons started to rise above the water and opened. Ash and Serena were thrown outside and fell on the vine platform, coughing out water. Ash recovered first and quickly rushed to hold Serena. "are you ok Sere?" he asked as he helped Serena stand. Serena nodded and held onto his shoulder for support "you did well, chosen ones" Zygarde said. Ash and Serena gave him a weak smile before almost falling from exhaustion and being caught by Zygarde just before hitting the ground. "I'm sorry" He said and sighed "I should have told you this would completely drain you" Ash smiled and put his hand forward "don't worry Z we'll live this" He said and chuckled with all the power he had left and fainted

Hey big bro we foun-" Mew came back with Vanillite and his dad only to see her big brother and sister in Zygarde's vines "oh no what happened to them?" She asked panicked and flew to the two, to feel their heartbeat which was, to Mew's relief, stable. "Don't worry little sister, they're just fine" Zygarde said as he began moving towards the shore "that still doesn't answer my question! what happened to my brother and sister" Mew asked, angry and with tears in her eyes. Zygarde didn't say a thing and just kept moving "Please tell me" Mew pleaded "this is my brother and sister and I love them! please Zygarde tell me what happened!" Mew yelled and punched Zygarde. "Let me put them down first Mew, you're impatient as usual" Zygarde said and gently dropped Ash and Serena on the rocky surface

The Order Pokemon disbanded his cells and returned to his normal blobby self. "now start talking" Mew ordered with tears still flowing from her eyes. She couldn't even look at her brother at this state. Mew always thought of her brother as her hero, her Idol and now he was lying on the ground motionlessly. She loved him from deep inside her heart and she would never let someone hurt him. "Arron and Serena were put to a test by Arceus himself, it was suppose to make them face their own fears and doubts in themselves to unlock their true power and grant them control over golden aura" Zygarde explained and hopped on Mew's legs "I cannot say if they succeeded or not we'll just have to see" He sadly said. Mew's expression darkened as she gave her dear brother and sister a huge hug in their exhaustion sleep

She stayed like this for what seems like an eternity, with Ash and Serena still unconscious and the worry on her face couldn't even begin to be measured "I'm sorry that i put them to such test and not telling you, Mew" Zygarde said and jumped on his little sister's head "but you have to stay strong, for them" Mew sadly nodded a gave them a deep hug "please wake up.." She said and tears began streaming down her face once more "you can't just leave me.. I love you!" Mew sobbed into Ash's chest, her eyes red and her breathing heavy. just then the little pink Pokemon felt what she wanted to feel the most, her brother and sister, returning the hug. "Don't cry Mew" Ash said and kissed Mew on the forehead "We won't dare to leave you, our little cutie pie" Serena said and tapped Mew on the nose with all the power she had left "don't call me that! I'm a big girl now" She said, mad but then broke into tears again, this time tears of pure joy. Mew was laughing and crying at the same time, trying to get the pain she just felt to leave forever, she was so relieved that her family.. they are ok.

"help us stand up Mew" Ash asked and Mew, without even thinking, used her psychic powers to help the two stand and to use as support so the can walk almost normally but then she thought of an idea "Let me just transfer some of me aura to you so you would feel better" She said and closed her eyes "Mew.." Ash started but was cut by mew "hold on I got this" she said and concentrated. she began transferring her aura to the two but to no avail, no matter how much aura she used they didn't seem to be getting better "why isn't this working?" She said in frustration as she used even more aura "because, Ash and Serena are strong far beyond your imagination now" Zygarde declared "what do you mean?" Mew asked and stopped transfering her aura "I mean that Ash's and Serena's aura are so powerful that even if you use all of your aura you wouldn't scratch the surface of their power" the order pokemon explained and turned to Ash and Serena "You have my congratulations, the new protectors of the pokemon world!" He exclaimed and shot his Core Enforcer at the ceiling, creating a powerful aurora that surrounded the cave and was reflected on the sparkling water. Suddenly, out of nowhere 21 spheres of light appeared all around our heroes, blinding them.

21 figures stepped out of the balls as they dimmed down. "Congratulations my children" Arceus said as he and all the legendary pokemon arrived at the cave. Mewtwo, Lugia and Ho-Oh, Groudon and Kyogre, Rayquaza, Dialga and Palkia, Zekrom and Reshiram, Kyurem, Xerneas and Yveltal, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, Solgaleo and Lunala and Zacian and Zamazenta. "Dad!" Mew called and flew to her dad and gave his head a hug "please you have to help A-" she said but Arceus silenced her "I cannot help at this scenario" he simply said. Mew looked at her father in disbelief "but.. why?" Mew asked with a worried expiration implanted on her face. Arceus lowered his head and gave Ash and Serena a hug "I missed you two" The two returned the hug "we missed you two.. dad" Serena said making Arceus teared up with joy "My child.. you have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that... You calling me.. your father. Thank you and I'm so sorry I can't help you recover" He replied with sadness in his voice "but why not father?" Mew asked, confused and concerned. Acreus smiled "It's quit simple. Ash and Serena.."

"Are far stronger than me"

Mew, Ash and Serena looked at Arceus in pure shock "I-I no I don't believe you" Ash said, shaking. He could believe what his father was saying, him and Serena stronger than the most powerful being in the universe? There's no chance. "Not alone of course. Your new power would only work if you fight together for one goal.. your love" Arceus said "now you two posses the power of golden aura. As your love is getting stronger, you two would get stronger as well"

"Now my children, begin!" Arceus shouted and all the legendary pokemon cried. All of them used their strongest moves creating a ball of light just above Ash and Serena that began descending and absorbing their remaining blue aura making the two feel as fluffy as clouds. The ball grew larger and larger and became unstable "unleash the light that bound souls!" The ball, exploded and filled the room with bright light.
