Chapter 32: Sisters

Serena's eyes shot open. her breath was heave and cold and sticky sweat all over her body as the adrenaline rushed through her vines. The aura guardian looked at her hands through the darkness but she could only see movements. her hands shaking. She eased her breath and calmed down "what was that nightmare?" she asked herself in a low whisper trying to remember what just happened but with no luck. Serena sighed and got out of bed and took her coat, leaving Ash and Mew alone and asleep. the young adult kissed he fiance on the cheek as gently as she could, fearing to wake him up too. 'I need some time alone' she tough to herself and took a step towards the door. She felt really bad for leaving Ash in the dark and not telling him what's bothering her but knew he wouldn't understand.

"You know Serena, I wouldn't have a chance to understand if you won't talk to me" said Ash's voice from behind her

Serena stopped mid-step and turned around. Her love was right behind her, wide awake. looking at her with his deep brown eyes. "I.." She started before taking off toward the door. but right as she started to run Ash's hand grasped her's. Serena began to struggle out of his touch but he only held on stronger. Ash sighed "Serena wait.. please?" he ask with a soothing whisper to calm his love down. Serena stopped struggling, and gave out a small whimper. Ash hated himself for not helping her, for not pushing the matter forward when it was clear when it was clear the love of his life was suffering. right now he wanted to see her smile, more then anything. "Please, my angel.. talk to me" he said desperate "I'm here for you, no matter what" Ash wrapped his arm around her and placed his hand on her cheek, bringing her look to him "but I can't help if you won't tell me what's bothering you" Serena looked at him, happy that cared so much but sad that he had to deal with her problems

Ash kissed her cheek "whats bothering you is also bothering me Serena, I love you. Please i want to help you" he said with a caring and warm loving voice. Serena weakly smiled, she loved Ash too, he cared so much for her "I don't now what to do anymore" she admitted "I know we can't tell anyone who we are but I don't know why. why are we lying to our true friends?" she asked "I saw Bonnie again today! I saw her aura Ash! is was green I, I know I can trust her! why do I have to do it Ash? I don't want to do this anymore if I know my best friend isn't going to support me?" Serena confessed everything that made her heart ache. With streams of tears coming from her eyes she broke down sobbing

Ash watched this scene go on in front of him. Serena, his best friend crying besides him and he doesn't know what to say. he felt hopeless. He wasn't enough, Serena was still hurting from the inside. He tried his best to make her happy on his own but he just couldn't do it... in their 5 years on mount Silver Serena never showed any weakness, she was always so strong and determined. She never gave up until the end. Ash never knew that under all of that strength Serena had manege to hide 7 years of misery. But then it clicked in him... Serena wasn't doing anything for herself. she wasn't putting a strong face for herself. She was doing it all for Ash just Now he wanted to make Serena happy more then ever before. "Serena.. look at me" he said with sadness in his voice "do you want to tell Bonnie wow you really are?" he asked her and ran his thumb on her palm. Serena looked away through the window, watching the breath taking night sky "I.." She stopped mid sentence and looked back at Ash. he had such a warm heart and caring eyes Serena couldn't even consider lying to him again. so with a heavy sigh Serena spoke "I.. I do.." she said, stuttering "but I won't do it! dad told us not to! I can't risk everything just to be sil-" she was stopped by Ash who put his finger on her lips, silencing her "Serena this mission isn't worth it if you're not happy" he said "I don't care about the mission anymore! do you think I want to see you cry? do you think that a stupid mission is more important to me then your happiness?" he asked with tears forming in his eyes. Serena was taken back by the sudden burst of emotion "but what about da-" she started to ask but was stopped by Ash yet again "I don't care what dad wants.. if it's making you suffer i won't do anything he says anymore" he said confidante
