So, this might sound crazy but I have a great idea. What I'm going to do is get really close with Coraline and then run away to Galapanda with her. She will want to take me with her, after she hears about my backstory and why I have moved here. And anyway, everyone in Galapanda should stick together so she needs to take me with her, right? I know that may sound stupid, but I can't stay in Mortinger any longer, I feel like it is eating away at my brain. Mother won't agree with me leaving, so that's why I'm not going to tell her. I know I should but she won't let me leave and if I'm honest, I can live without her, I love her but she is so utterly miserable and she has lost her sense of fun since we left. She works all the time surprisingly, seeing as there's only two shops. I've had multiple conversations with her about moving back to Galapanda but she tries to tell me she is happier here which I know is a lie.

A couple weeks passed by as Coraline and Arielle became very close friends. Almost inseparable.

I walked with Coraline to school today. Turns out she is living on her own in a dilapidated flat tower just on the outskirts of the town. We spent most of our time together during the term we had off at the beaches, so I never knew where she lived until now. I told her that she can come and live with me and mother, but she declined and said, "I cannot risk your mother finding out about me, well, the true me because she will send me back," At first I said that she wouldn't but thinking about it, she most likely would because even talk of that word she gets mad at me.

As we approached the school gates we looked over to see an abnormal amount of people hovering over a poster hung up on the school doors. As Coraline and I got closer to the poster to see what it read, two large men stood in front of us, blocking our way.

"We're gonna need to see your school id's," one of the men scoffed at both of us.

"Why would you need to see them?" I question in protest.

"Between us four," the other man leans in and gets uncomfortably close towards my face, "We are trying to find the people who are apparently practising magic. Probably some paranoid villagers if you ask me," The men both looked at each other and took a bite out of their greasy doughnuts almost in sync. "Well we'll be on our way then," Without another question the two men barge past us and move onto the next people.

"He didn't even check our id's," Coraline pointed out, rather surprised that the men had forgotten.

"You're right. What if they're onto us?" I look at her with fear spread across my face.

"With that attitude they will be, now shut up and let's go to lesson," Without argument, I follow her into English.

We are the first ones to arrive here, not even the teachers are there yet. I check my watch to see that we are in fact 10 minutes early to our lesson, how have we even managed that then? Once Coraline realises that no one will be coming for a while, she runs over to the windows and pulls down the blinds. I look at her puzzled, what is she up to?

"Shall we give the Belamimia spell another try then?" Coraline questioned.

"Are you crazy? Did you just forget what happened literally five minutes ago?!"

"Don't be a wuss-puss, come on, you know you want to," She furrowed her brows and shot me her puppy eyes that were hard to say no to.

"Fine fine, but only quickly," Coraline beams at me as she opens her musty backpack and places the dying grey plant onto the table. Coraline guides me to my seat and we both sit down, I look at her warily before looking back down to the plant in a hurry. She then grabs my sweaty palms and places them onto the table.

"You ready?" She asks, trying to encourage me into doing this stupid spell. My words wouldn't form, so I just nod my head, then we start the spell. We look at each other as we start to chant the spell slowly, hesitant to get it wrong. Even getting the slightest words wrong in a spell could be ever so dangerous. One time, my friends and I back in Galapanda were trying a light spell but instead of saying 'loco' we pronounced it as 'laca' and the carpet set on fire!

Just as we were about to give up, the dying plant starts to let out sparks of electricity. Coraline and I both stare at the plant intently to realise that the plant wasn't only just being resurrected, but it was growing back much bigger. It is now protruding with beautiful colours of greens, and yellows and the leaves are now beautifully standing proudly on their tip-toes. Coraline jumps up from her seat and starts to throw her hands around excitedly.

"Finally, the spell worked! It finally worked! I can't believe it!" She pulled me up from my seat and gave me a tight hug.

"You did it!" I exclaimed, surprised that the spell finally worked after months of practising it.

"No, we did it," She corrects me. As she let me go from her warm embrace, I look at her to realise that she has came across all of a sudden very pale, like all of the blood has been drained from her body.

"A-are you okay?" She couldn't say a word, she just points towards the door. I turn around to realise that we were not the only ones in the room...

A boy. A small, skinny boy, holding a recorder in his hands, filming our every move. "How much did you see?" Coraline shouts at the boy louder than I'd ever heard her shout before. All of the blood was back to her face now, she looks more like a strawberry than an actual human.

"Enough, I-"

"-What on earth does enough mean? What. Did. You. See," I am trying to act infuriated, but I am actually far from it, I am terrified of what this boy has captured. The boy simply looked up and gave us a terrible grin.

"Can't you see? You're dead, it's over for you two," The boy quickly shut off his camera and ran towards the door.

"We need to catch him, right now, I mean it Arielle," Coraline couldn't contain her anger, she pushes past me and runs after the boy. With no hesitation, I pick up my pace and dart for him, monitoring his every move so he doesn't get away.

I was almost certain he'd run for the door, but instead he takes a detour and turns right towards the closed off classroom. "What on earth is he doing?" I ask myself quietly, making sure that Coraline doesn't hear me. She is angry enough already, I don't want to annoy her with my silly pretences. As we are approaching the door, the footsteps stopped.

"Be careful, stay behind me," I want to seem like I know what I am doing so I take the lead. I am in fact terrified of what was going to happen next.

I open the old classroom door to see him almost fixed in a position facing the wall, not moving an inch. I went in to get a closer look, when I heard footsteps coming from over near the corner of the room.

"Stay ba-" before Coraline could finish, the familiar figure starts to walk out of the shadows. I then realised that I knew exactly who they were right then and there. My smile spread widely across my face, "Morcar, you son of a bitch."

"Sometimes black magic comes in handy I'd say, don't you think?"
