We start to walk up the stairs to her floor. Oh shit, her floor number, what the hell was it? I need to stop and think, what floor is she actually on? I place my hand onto my temple and start rubbing them really hard like it was going to make me remember.
"Hey, we will find the floor number, I know you don't know it, I could see it on your face from the moment we stepped into the compound," Morcar smiles intently at me. Before I could take my hands away from my face, Morcar grabs my wrists and looks me in the eyes. I wonder what he thought of my eyes. Was that a weird question to be thinking about?
Morcar's pov...
Maybe it might be too soon to kiss her but she is making it awfully hard for me to resist. Her emerald green eyes feel like they are reflecting on my skin. My mother once told me 'fall in love with eyes dear. Because one day their hair will turn grey and their face will become wrinkly, but the eyes will always remain the same.' Which I always stuck to. But to be fair, I never looked into anyone else's eyes like I did with Arielle, hers are just so easy to fall into a deep stare.
"Morcar, are you alright?" She questioned me. She is waiting for an answer but I actually feel tongue twisted on my words and I don't know what to say.
Arielle's pov...
"Morcar? What floor are we on?" He is very close to my face and I need to create a distraction because I can feel my cheeks boiling.
"Urm.. Floor 16."
"He speaks!" I laugh at him before he starts to move and walk up the stairs.
"Are you coming, or are you just gonna stand there like an idiot? Race ya."
"Oh you're on- '' before I could even start counting down he started to speed up the stairs. "No fair you had a head-start!" That little cheat. Jheez- I need to start running more, he's so fast.
"Guys, I'm on floor 15, can you hear me?" Coraline's voice echoes throughout the compound.
"Coming!" I knew I'd be there first as I was only on floor 17. I ran until my feet hurt and finally got to Coraline's floor. "Hey, I forgot what floor you were on," I say breathlessly.
"Why were you running?"
"We were-"
"Racing," Morcar runs casually over and stands beside me. How the hell isn't he out of breath?
"And what floor did you get to?" Coraline chuckled.
"Oh erm floor 23," I- what?! How the hell was that even possible. I let it slide as Coraline opens her door fully to let us in.
"Wow It's-"
"-Really nice in here." I finish Morcar's sentence for him. I had a feeling he was going to say something horrible but I'm not actually sure seeming as the apartment is actually really nice.
"Thank you, I did it up a little bit with things from the town, even though there is literally nothing there. Well, there is actually a nice sweet shop there and-"
"Sweet shop!!" I exclaimed to Morcar as he asked me where I wanted to go.
"You can't eat sweets forever, your teeth will all fall out," I look at Morcar with sad eyes. "No. No no no do not look at me like that, you're trying to make me feel bad."
"You're damn right I am, SWEETIES," I look at Morcar and pull a silly face at him.
"I- what have you eaten today? You are already hyper enough," Before I could protest Morcar grabs me and slings me over his back. "Right. Home it is then," I start to swing my legs around in disagreement.
