Arielle's pov...
"Wait, Morcar," I say to him which makes him turn around to fully face me. "I just want to say whatever happens out here-"

"No don't say it," He interrupts me quickly before slamming his eyes shut.

"Why?" I ask intrigued to hear his reasoning behind not letting me say I love you.

"Because you're not dying," He replies bluntly, looking me straight in the eye.

"But we don't know that Morcar! I don't want to not have said it just in case something does happen."

"You know I will not let you die, I can't let that happen," He turns to the stairs and holds out his hand, waiting for me to take it. I take a step back and put my hands on my stomach and look down to the floor. He doesn't know that I am willing to die if it means that my friends will stay alive. "Arielle please-"

"I love you Morcar," I scramble out quickly before taking his hand. He shakes his head and tuts at me.

"You are so annoying," He smirks before dragging me down the stairs and near the door. He goes to open it when another loud bang comes from outside. He drags me to the floor and buries my head into his chest. "Are you okay?" He heaves trying to stay calm.

"Stay here," I reply back to him calmly, not answering his question.

"You are not leaving this building without me," He orders, gripping onto my arm so I wouldn't leave.

"Morcar-" I place my hand on his cheek and he pushes his face closer to it, closing his eyes as he does so. "It's okay, she wants me, not you. I can't let her hurt you, or Charlie or Coraline. Please, just trust me, I can do this," I reassure him and myself confidently.

"I am not going to let you go out there on your own. I can't let you die," He whispers, locking eyes with mine.

"Please, I promise you I wont get hurt," I whisper back to him in an attempt to put his mind at ease.

"Arielle no," He replies short and snappy.

"You leave me no choice-" I warn quickly, making him shoot me a confused look. I slowly grab his hands and push them to the wall and slam my eyes shut. I take a deep breath and grip harder onto his arms, causing him to squeal. "I'm sorry Morcar." I whisper almost silently.

"What are you-" Before he could finish his sentence I opened my eyes and let go of his hands. "Why can't I move my arms? Arielle. Please," He declares, making me tear up.

"I love you Morcar, but if I don't make it out alive I will never forgive myself for the fact that you risked your life just for me," I kiss his forehead and stand up.

"Arielle please don't do this- I can't live without you. I love you," He cries loudly, trying to make me undo the spell.

"I'm sorry Morcar, I can't let you die. They want me, not you," I explain almost silently, trying not to cry.

"We can figure this out! We all can, just undo this spell and let me help you," He pleads.

"You cannot change my mind, I need to do this," I start to drag myself to the door without looking at Morcar, this could be the last time I see him, and it hurts too much to look at him.

"Arielle- if you aren't going to let me help, c-can I at least get a hug?" He whimpers softly, trying to hold back his tears. I grip onto the door and close my eyes, trying not to cry either. Without thinking about it anymore, I ran over to Morcar and put my arms around him, letting my tears fall from my eyes. I look up to him to see his eyes watering rapidly, not able to hold them back anymore. "I love you Arielle," He chokes.
