"You look so beautiful." Catherine complimented Jackson and I, who had just finished arguing.

"Can we get this over with?" He rushed.

"Not mature enough to play with the adults yet, Jackie?"

Jackson rolled his eyes, hearing his grandfather's voice. Harper came down the stairs in a suit similar to Jackson's.

"Grandpa.."

"I forget that he's his father's son. Catherine, does the boy have any manners, and what about her? She hasn't spoken to me since I walked down."

"You just came down, Harper." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Was I talking to you?"

"Grandpa, stop." Jackson told him.

"Whatever. Let's go, Catherine, before we're late." He pushed past us, leaving out the door.

"I won't cry if you kill him." Catherine stated, following behind him.

Jackson chuckled, adjusting his sling and looking at me. I glared at him, shaking my head.

"What now?"

"I don't need you to fight my battles for me."

"Come on, Sage, he was being disrespectful."

"As a grown woman, I know how to handle disrespect, and myself."

"I never said you didn't."

"No, you implied it." He scoffed.

"Whatever. Like he said, let's go."

I mingled with a couple investors, successfully wooing them into donating money to the hospital. The night had seemed to drag on..

I wasn't interested in the live entertainment like everyone else, I was honestly ready to go. My eyes met Jackson's for the 90th time as I looked around the room.

"Hey, Stan, Harper's coming onstage."

Everyone turned their attention to Harper and Catherine. I left the table and moved through the people, stopping at the bar.

"What can I do for you, sexy?" The bartender flirted.

"You can get your jaw wired shut once I break it. Back up." Jackson aggressively threatened him.

"I don't want any trouble. I didn't even know she was yours."

"I'm not." "She is." We both spoke.

"Sorry." He slightly backed up, going to help someone else.

"Look what you did." I scolded him. He moved closer to me, whispering in my ear.

"Come here."

"No. I want my liquor."

"I don't care. Get your ass into the hall."
