"You're gonna switch with Grey so you'll be in OR 3." Owen told me.

"Hey, good morning, ginger."

"Carlos.. How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me that?"

"As many times as you want, doesn't mean I'll stop."

"You got something against us?" Owen joked.

"Of course not. I love my ginger beauties, it's just a fun nickname for you."

"I got a name for you that is inappropriate for this setting." Carlos laughed as Owen walked away.

"How's baby Rae? What'd Arizona say?" He checked in.

"She's a daddy's girl who loves carrots one day then peas then next. Arizona has cleared me so I look forward to working with you, Dr. Romero." I told him. He nodded with a smile.

"Hey, baby.." Jackson kissed my cheek, adjusting Rae's carseat in his hand.

"Hey, what's up, man?" Carlos greeted him.

I had to be here before Jackson so Arizona could check my incision before she fully cleared me.

It had been six months since the crash. It was amazing how little we were injured but the recovery process was agitating.

He came out with a mid-sized head lac and bruised ribs, my incision had come apart and my wrist was broken.

"What's up, lil mama?" He whispered.

"She can't hear you. This girl can sleep through a tornado." Jackson told him.

It was true. Rae only ever woke out of her sleep when she heard anything food related or car keys. Other than that, she was out like a light.

"What'd Arizona say? You're all good?" He asked.

"Yeah. How are you feeling?"

"Better. Exercises definitely helped."

His ribs were almost healed, he just had a couple setbacks here and there. We were back together, for about two weeks. I wasn't totally sure of this again but I took the risk anyway.

"I'm gonna take her to daycare then I will see you later. I love you."

"I love you too. Mama loves you." I kissed both of them as we parted ways.

"So she ain't sexy to you?" Carlos asked.

"Yes, she is. However, she is my friend who I would not have sex with."

"Because you're a girl. You don't understand male anatomy."

I looked at him, pointing to the blue writing on my white coat. He waved me off, looking across the room at our friend.

"Why don't you say something?"

"I can't. It'll be weird. What if she rejects me?"
