"How are her labs?" I asked Parker as we walked down the hall.

"They're better. Her oxygen still needs to be increased by the hour.."

"Have Dr. Karev check her out, and get repeat labs."

"Hey." Jackson lowly spoke as he stood in front of us.

"Welcome back, Dr. Avery."

"Thanks, Parker. Give us a minute, please." Jackson spoke.

Parker nodded, turning to walk away as I swung my fist, hitting Jackson in the jaw. Some gasps were heard while Jackson moaned in pain, holding his face.

"Holy crap." Helm spoke shocked.

A small crowd gathered around, watching our interaction. I glared at him as he sat on the floor, holding his bleeding mouth.

"What the hell happened?" Alex asked once he pushed through the crowd.

"Sage punched Dr. Avery." Helm snitched. Alex looked at Jackson, smirking.

"Not the knockout you promised."

"He'll feel it later." I said, shrugging before walking away.

He followed behind me, telling a couple of nurses that he was fine.

"Sage, can we please talk?" He begged. I continued to ignore him.

"I wasn't sure if you were reading any of my texts. I told you that-" I spun around, glaring at him.

"I know what you told me. Yeah, you met a boy with an scapular osteochondroma, so you pressed pause on your trip to fly him and his family here to operate. Right?"

He looked around, pulling me into the supply closet.

"Yes. This also gives me a chance to see my family. I miss you guys." I laughed.

"You mean you have some type of feeling in your body? You left without telling me, sending a stupid voicemail and the only reason you came back is because of an osteochondroma."

"I know my trip was sudden. I know, I just want us to be able to catch up. Can I take you to dinner tonight? I'll call Lyla to watch the kids and we can have some time alone."

"No thanks. You've got surgery. I've got patients."

"We have surgery, you mean."

"Excuse me?"

"You said I have surgery but I want you on this case with me. It's a kid. You're brilliant in this area and I wanna give him the best chance."

"I can't, Jackson. Page Alex." I told him, leaving the closet.

"Hey. Why didn't you tell me that your husband was bringing back a present?" Alex asked.

"I was supposed to tell you this?"
