"Dinner. You're coming." Meredith told Carlos.

I laughed, adjusting myself on the couch as Carlos looked around, confused as to who she was talking to.

"Did you hear something?" He asked Rae, who he held in his arms.

"No exceptions, Carlos! You too, Sage."

"No. I have a newborn baby." I pointed to Rae.

"You also have a nanny." She declared.

"She's my baby, though."

Rae and I had been home for a week. She was doing much better, however we still use at-home treatments whenever she has a problem.

"And I have 3 kids."

"Who live at the home where you're having the dinner you don't even want." I told her. She paused.

"You have a point."

They were over to gossip about everything that had been going on at the hospital. They took turns with Rae before it was time for their shifts.

Jackson was back from the store. He left by himself but came back with him mom whom I wasn't too fond of at the moment.

"Hi, sweetie!" Catherine beamed holding Rae.

"You going to that dinner tonight?" Jackson asked.

I rolled my eyes at the fact that he brought it up in front of his mother.

"No. We have a daughter, Jackson."

"I know.. I just wanted to ask."

"I can take her." Catherine offered.

"She doesn't need plane rides or galas, she needs her mother." I declined.

"I know how to take care of a baby, Sage. I did a great job with Jackson, didn't I?" I stared at her.

yeah, right..

"Mom's right. Let's have a night out before we dive into the deep end of parenting."

I looked at my baby daddy, contemplating smothering him with a pillow. We weren't back together. Words weren't going to cut it this time, he had to show serious actions.

"So it's final. I will come back tonight to spend it with my granddaughter."

Kill me now.. I mentally cursed..

"Hi, Penny. I'm Jackson, this is Sage."

"Very nice to meet you." She flashed a fake smile. I noticed Penny was a little uncomfortable.

I entered the kitchen, seeing April with an apron on as she cooked. Others sat around, anxiously waiting.

"Okay, when the potatoes are done, we will sprinkle the Manchego, and then I'll dress this salad. Then, I'll sear the flank steak, couple minutes on each side, turn the temperature down, 5 to 10 minutes more while I steam the peas." April announced.
