"So who the hell was that then?" Ray asked as the 3 teens walked to the pub,

" Oh that's my Aunt Hilda." Penny informed,

" Auntie Anna's sister?" Dave questioned,

"Yeah.  Are you two actually going to be nice to each other?" Penelope asked sarcastically,

" It might be your birthday but I'm not going to confess my love to the nob." Ray laughed,

"Noted." Penny spoke chuckling.

" Have you heard from your Liverpudlian love as of recent Pens?" Ray asked,

" George's fine." She laughed, 

" Have you let him know that he has tons of competition but two very much important men who would happily compete for you." He informed,

" Oh and who's that then?" She asked rhetorically,

" Me and Mr. Quiet over here," 

"Please, Men! You're my boys not men." She laughed sarcastically as she looped her arms through the both of theirs. " Besides as much as I like George, nothing and I mean nothing can ever come between me and my boys." 

"Seriously?" Dave spoke,

"Seriously." She reassured as she squeezed his arm before he smiled,

When they entered the Smokey pub Ray went to retrieve the drinks whilst the two 16 year olds found a booth that didn't look like it had been through hell. 

" What's wrong?" Penny asked the teen boy next to her,

" What?" 

" You haven't been yourself today." She alerted,

"I- I just- It's nothing." Dave assured,

"I see right through you remember." She reminded as she pointed to the necklace around her neck,

" I don't want to bore you with my shit Lo." He spoke,

" You aren't" 

"I've just been thinking." He started, "Well, Ray's got college, you've got college/O levels, Stu's got the same and well I've got nothing cause I didn't finish the bloody thing!" 

" You can go back," 

"But here's the thing, I hated it. I got a job and felt pure liberation! But I don't just want to be here all my life in the same job. I don't care about qualifications, I'm not like you; I don't want to go on to achieve a degree and all that cause to me it doesn't help me achieve what I want. I tried to talk to Nettie about it and she just said as long as I've got a job I'll be fine but once you finish college you'll leave for uni and then meet a guy you'll fall in love with and then marry and you won't be anywhere near me, Ray and Mum." He continued, 

"You'll always have me, so will your brother and Auntie Emily." She reassured.

" What are you two going on about?" Ray interrupted as he came back,

" A load of rubbish really" Dave cutted in before Penny nodded. 

" Are you going take your drinks or what?" The Older brother asked beginning to get impatient before Penny giggled and took her lime-topped beer. 

The teens sat sipping silently on their beer, Ray picking up the awkward vibe; 

" Right what has he said? Has he asked you to marry him and move to Paris and have lovely little Davies'?" He teased rhetorically; which lead to Penny once again choking on her drink before laughing,

" Oh yes definitely! How many are we having again Dave?" She teased moving closer to the shocked, blushing teen.

" Oh come on then Honey don't get embarrassed!" She giggled as she looked at the older brother with a playful smirk and a raised eyebrow before leaning to kiss the embarrassed boy which she quickly diverted to his cheek. The younger brother now bright red, 

"Giss us a kiss." She faked as she stroked his arm before moving away from him laughing,

" Did you like that Dave?" The older brother teased whilst in a laughing fit,

"Oh god." The embarrassed teen gasped,

" Sorry Dave." She apologised half-heartedly as she laughed with Ray,

" Thought you've never had a boyfriend Penny?" Ray asked whilst laughing,

" Well I guess George counts in this scenario!" She laughed. 

" Oh so he was a romantic fling?" He teased,

" Well DUH." She mumbled before they both giggled calming down slightly. 

" Georgie was a lucky man!" He mocked harmlessly,

" I was the lucky one." She gushed.

" What a lovely image," Dave spoke agitated,

" Oh shut up," She smirked as she whacked him round the arm. 

" Why don't you!" He joked, "Anyway, I didn't know you could speak fluent French!" 

"J 'apprends pas au pensionnat dimlo " She informed (I learnt in boarding school dimlo),

" Tell us your opinion on us all grown up then, in French." The older brother spoke up,

"Comme tu veux, droite Ray. Je pense que vous ressemblez à un enfant de onze ans avec cette dent échancrée, mais c'est assez adorable." She spoke,

"What did that mean?" Dave asked,

"As you wish, right Ray. I think you look like an over grown eleven year old with that gapped tooth but it's quite adorable." 

" OI!" The oldest warned,

"Well it's right though isn't it?" She laughed,

"Me next!" The youngest spoke

"Le plus gentil garçon que je connaisse, je t'adore. That means sweetest boy I know, I adore you." She smiled,

" Are you coming out with me, Stu, Helena and Nettie tomorrow?" He asked with a smile,

" Sure." 

It was as they walked out he whispered half-jokingly " Oh and by the way it would be 3."
