TRIXIE'S POV:
The rain started coming down heavy as I took a long drag from the cigarette that was sitting between my fingers.
"Do you have to do that here?" whispered Levi. I looked over at my older brother, blowing smoke in his face. He coughed, fanning the smoke away as I laughed quietly. Plenty of people were looking at us but I was past caring for their unwanted opinions.
"How long is this funeral?" I said quietly, leaning against him as he held the black umbrella above us.
"I don't know, just stand still and quit being annoying" he said, putting his free hand in his pocket. I glared at him before looking over at the coffin being lowered into the ground.
Mom & Dad had sent us since Mom didn't want to come. She said the lady was stupid for the choices she made and that she didn't want anything to do with it. So Dad decided to stay back with her.
"What's her name again?" I asked Levi.
"Alana Brooks"
I nodded slowly, dropping my cigarette on the grass and putting it out with my black heel. Levi shook his head in disappointment but I ignored him. He was only two years older than me yet he acted as if he was my dad. Not even my Dad was as bothered by my actions, unlike him.
"You're 18, why are you already smoking?" he said, keeping his eyes on the funeral procession in front.
"You're 20, why don't you have a job?" I fired back. He gave me the cold shoulder and I did the same. We didn't always argue, it's just that today I was in a bad mood since I had to wake up early for this and he wasn't helping in any way.
"Can you drop me off at Jason's house after this?"
He looked at me, furrowing his eyebrows. I knew Dad would say no and Mom was probably too busy completing some kinda mission so Levi was my only option left.
"I can't, I have a mission with Dad" he said. But Levi was a terrible liar, it was so obvious.
"C'mon Lenny" I said, nudging his arm. He elbowed me back, except harder since he was so much stronger than I was. I rubbed my arm as I glared at him.
"You know I hate being called that" he said.
"Then don't lie to me and drop me off at Jason's" I said. But the truth was, none of my family liked Jason apart from Mom. Dad & Levi always thought he was a screw up and a bad influence. But I didn't care, he'd kept me happy for two years.
He was my soulmate for God's sake.
"Fine, just please shut up" he said, watching the priest say a prayer. I smiled to myself as I thought about him.
Mom, Dad & Levi were the only ones who did missions since we were part of some mafia that had always remained a secret. I never understood it properly since Mom and Dad always kept me out of it. Something about wanting to protect me.
I looked at all the people dressed in black but my eyes caught one guy standing next to his wife. He had black shades on, so did his wife so I couldn't even tell whether he was looking at us or not. I saw his lips slowly curve into a smile, making me inch a little closer to Lenny, something about him was off.
ALEJANDRO'S POV:
She looked exactly like Olivia, it was unreal. The son definitely went off Mattia. I stared at her long brown curls as she noticed me. She didn't smile back, but instead moved closer to her brother.
I moved my eyes towards the coffin which was now being covered in soil.
Alana, Alana. If only you'd have killed Mattia like Ralph had told you. Now it was my job. I wouldn't break my promise to Ralph. I was going to wipe out that entire family name for good.
I looked back at the girl and boy but they were nowhere to be seen. I felt someone tugging on my arm and looked to my right to see my wife.
"Can we go? This is lame, I don't even know the girl"
"I told you she was a family friend, Evelyn" I said, rolling my eyes. I was yet to tell my wife about my background, she could be of some good use.
TRIXIE'S POV;
"Be home by 6" said Lenny. I nodded and got out the car, smiling when I saw Jason standing by the front door. He didn't smile back but I brushed it off.
"Yeah yeah, bye Lenny" I said quickly, walking away from the car. I walked over to Jason, leaning forward and gently kissing his lips. He kissed me back, placing his hands on my waist.
"Use protection!" shouted Levi. I pulled away and froze, squeezing my eyes shut as Jason laughed quietly, waving at him as he drove away.
"I'm so sorry" I said, walking into his house. He followed me in, closing the door behind him.
"Nothing I'm not used to" he said. I smiled and made my way up to his bedroom. It was honestly my favourite place to be in.
"How are you?" I asked, taking a seat on his bed. He leaned against the doorframe, looking at me nervously. He didn't usually act like this around me. He didn't even know that I was the daughter of a mafia leader so there was no reason for him to be scared.
"Look, Trix" he started, I felt my heart speeding up a little out of anxiety.
"I'm breaking up with you" he said. I raised my eyebrows, I didn't see it coming at all. It felt as though someone had punched me in the stomach. I couldn't breathe.
"Oh, okay" I said, getting off the bed. I kept a straight face and walked right past him, downstairs and out the front door. I took a few breaths to try steady myself but held back my tears.
I wasn't going to cry in front of him. My Mom had always taught me that since I was a little girl.
Never let 'em see you weak, baby.
