Chapter Thirty-Seven: The Results Are In..

"Let's do it... Let's adopt him.." He whispered in my ear and i jerked my head to look him in the eyes to see if he was serious, i saw nothing but love and honesty in his eyes.

"Really?!" I exclaimed happily.

"Definitely! He's a good kid, he deserves a good home, and he can't do any better than you..." Tadley kissed my cheek and i just beamed with happiness. I barely know this kid and yet i already care so much for him.

We spent the next few hours playing with the boys at the park, and then we went back to the doctor's office to get the results of the test. Not that it matters now. No matter what the results turn out to be, we want him, we choose him.

"Well, the results are in..." The doctor said with a smile as he looked down at the paper and then back up at us. "Congratulations, it's a boy! He's yours."

I never in a million years thought that i would feel so much relief hearing that my husband has another child that isn't mine. But the moment i heard that Tadley was the father i couldn't help but to pick Joey up with my free arm and hug him to me tightly. He's ours!

"Does that mean i get to stay with you?" He asked hopefully.

"It does!" I exclaimed happily. Joey started shouting in happiness and wrapped his arms around my neck and hugged me tightly, then he pulled one arm away and wrapped Cade in the hug as well, Tadley came over and joined in on the hug.

"Let's go shopping for more stuff and then go home! We can have a movie night tonight." Tadley stated.

"Yay!" Joey shrieked. We went and bought some more clothes, toys, and other items he would need. Then we went home and all got into our jammies and started having our movie night.

Me- *Selfie with the boys and Tad*

Me- He's ours! The test came back that he is Tadley's!

Lacey- Aww you guys are all so cute!

Ava- 😍😍

Reese- I'm glad everything worked out for you guys!

James- So you're a mommy of two now? Two boys at that..... GOOD LUCK!

Ashley- Holy shit....I have another nephew?! So happy for you guys!

JJ- Congratulations guys!

Carrie Anne- I'm so proud of you, honey! You could have let this destroy your marriage, and could have refused to take care of this sweet boy, but you stepped up and are taking him in happily. You've turned into such an amazing young woman!

Jason- Can't wait to meet the little guy!

Kyle- Are there any more kids we should know about, Tadley? Haha.

Tadley- Nope! Well....not that I know of...🤔

Me- Oh God... 🤦🏼‍♀️

*End Text Messages*

We watched a few movies and then i put the boys down for bed. I was currently in Joey's room tucking him in.

"Do you guys really want me?..." His voice came out so small, and cracked with his emotion. It tore at my heart.

"Of course we do, sweetie!"

"Do you think my daddy will love me? Even though we just met?" His eyes filled with tears, and mine did as well. This poor baby has been through so damn much, he's been treated like he's not important...like he's not wanted...

"You wanna know something special about the heart?" I sat down beside him on the edge of the bed and took his hand.

"Yeah..."

"It doesn't matter how long you know someone, sometimes you just instantly love them. And there's nothing wrong with that, because the heart knows what it wants before you know it yourself. It doesn't matter that we just found out about you, and it doesn't matter that he wasn't there this whole time. Because believe me... he loves you, and if he would have known about you he would have been there from the first day." I assured him softly.

"Honey, don't ever think that we don't care about you, or that we don't want you here. Because, trust me, even if Tadley hadn't have turned out to be your daddy we would have chose to keep you with us anyways." I smiled at him and squeezed his hand gently.

"Really? You really want me? No matter what?" I smiled and brushed his hair off of his forehead.

"No matter what!" I promised.

"Will you love me too? Will i be your son like baby Cade?"

"Wanna hear a secret?" He nodded his head and looked up at me with wide eyes. "I kinda already do. Like i said, the heart knows what it wants. You're a part of your daddy, and i love your daddy very very much... so i can't help but to love you too. It doesn't matter that you weren't born my son, i will still think of you as mine. That is if you want me to."

"I would really like that! Thank you, Kenslea..." He leaned up and wrapped his arms around my neck and hugged me. The next words out of his mouth brought tears to my eyes.

"My heart says it loves you too..."
