"What did you think of it?" Blake asks, you tilt your head upwards.
You shrug, "Good..."
"Just good, Y/n? The tell tale heart is full of suspense and you thought it was good? Y/n come on speak your mind." Blake encourages.
"Well I liked the use of the noises, how Poe continued to leave us on the edge of our seats wondering. The main character was so well written too. I like the descriptive words too. He made it feel like we were actually there watching it." Blake was one of the only people you could talk to, your shy exterior was cracked open to her.
Blake nods, "I liked that too, he made it so that we could practically feel the insanity of the main character."
You nod, "He's quite a good author." You hand her book back to her.
"Have it for awhile, I know how much you like rereading the things you've read." You nod murmuring out a thank you to her, her ears twitch as you do.
She smiles, "The amount of books scattered around is going to stress Weiss out."
You chuckle quietly, that was true. You and Blake had spent the whole afternoon reading together. Nothing peaked your interest quite like Edgar Allen Poe's stories. Maybe it was just the fact that horror could've been classified as one of your favorite genres of literature.
"Do you think she'll yell at us?" You ask.
"Not if we clean up fast." Blake responds but before you can stand and help she's already moving at a hundred miles per second, putting the books away and while she's at it reorganizing them.
Blake Belladonna, so smart, quick witted, and could get anyone she ever wanted. She settled for you someone so quiet you hated confrontation.
While lost in thought thinking about her there's a movement behind you, Blake turning you around, pushing, and pulling you into her lap as she wraps her arms around your waste.
"I'm happy you're here with me, I'm glad we can stay like this even for just a moment." Blake kisses your shoulder.
You smile and begin to gently run your fingers through her hair, "Me too..." not the best with spoken words, but you hoped that Blake knew how much you loved her too.
"I really do wish you would speak your mind more, I never tell you how much I love hearing your voice and opinions." Blake says.
You rest your head on her shoulder, " 'm sorry..."
"Don't be, I don't care that you're shy, Y/n, I just know that your opinions are beautiful and well spoken when you let the real you out." Blake kisses your cheek.
"Mhm..." You smile. You've never been good at accepting things like compliments, but whenever it was from Blake it felt real and personal.
"If only I could put it in words of how much I love and cherish you..." You say.
"I know you do, you don't have to say it I can see your love." Blake replies.
You sigh in relief, wrapping your arms around her tighter. Her ears twitch.
"Ruby's back." Blake says.
"Oh okay." You reply.
"I'm back!" Ruby bursts through the door.
"Hi Ruby." Blake responds.
"Oh! Are you two cuddling?! Can I join?" Ruby asks.
"Uhm..." You hide your face in the crook of Blake's neck.
"Not today Ruby, okay?" Blake says.
"Totally fine, I just using cuddling as an excuse to get away from Professor Port's essay." Ruby groans, jumping onto her bed, making Blake laugh slightly.
"Good luck Ruby." Blake says.
"Thanks." Ruby grumbles.
"I feel bad..." You whisper.
"Don't, this is your comfort zone we're concerned about and Ruby would get in trouble with Weiss if she didn't do this essay." Blake whispers back.
You nod.
"Why don't we head to the library to pick up some other books to read?" Blake asks.
You smile, "Okay."
"Okay come on," You get off of her, standing up, she gets up softly grabbing a hold of your hand, "See you later Ruby."
"Mmkay. Bye." Ruby mutters out in deep concentration.
And with that you both walk out the door going to your favorite safe place.
Just wondering if you have a preferred schedule of when I update, because I've been writing a lot and I have oneshots that could be published this week or so.
