Draco carried Hermione up to the bedroom and laid her gently on the bed, pulling blankets up around her.

"I'm sorry I had to do that, pet," he whispered gently, running a finger tenderly across her cheek.

"Draco," Hermione whispered, pulling the blankets up tightly around her. "I'm sorry I ran," she said. "I'm so sorry." She let out a sob and tears began to fill her eyes.

Draco gently wiped the tears away that were pooling in the rims of her eyes.

"Shhh," he whispered, gently hoisting himself on the bed so he could put his arms around Hermione. "It's okay pet," he said gently, "just don't do it again and I won't have to punish you."

Hermione nodded silently, moving her face up so that Draco could more easily wipe the tears away.

"It hurts me to have to punish you like that," Draco said.

"Then why do it?" Hermione said in a small whisper.

"Because I need to teach you how to be good for me," he said soothingly. "You want to be a good girl for me, don't you?"

Hermione nodded.

"Oh come now, pet," he said. "I want you to say it. I know you know this by now."

"Yes, Draco," Hermione whispered.

"Yes what?"

"Yes Draco," Hermione said a bit louder than a whisper. "I want to be a good girl for you."

Draco closed his arms right around her and gently rested his chin on her neck. "Good girl," he whispered, "that's what I like to hear."

Draco left Hermione alone on the bed.

She slept for what seemed like ages.

When she awoke, she found herself in the room alone. She ran to the closet and threw on a yellow dress she saw hanging, before timidly peering out the bedroom window, looking for any signs of Draco.

Seeing nobody, she checked the rooms upstairs, made her way downstairs checking all the rooms, and then began wandering outside. Draco was gone. He was nowhere to be found.

She didn't know what to make of this. Where could he have gone?

Hermione realized this scenario hadn't even crossed her mind. If Draco was gone, how would she pass her time? Suddenly, a pang of loneliness washed across her. She shook her head. No way. There was no way that she could actually miss Draco. He was probably around here somewhere and her heart would sink as soon as he appeared.

She thought back to all those tender moments they had shared - the ones where he hadn't been punishing her. That look in his eyes... no one had ever looked at her like that. With such adoration, and... no, not love. There was no way a monster like that was capable of love.
