Chapter 35 : Airplane

Chapter 35 : Airplane.

On January the 12th and 13th, we are back on stage for the tour. I feel like I spend my life flying and it's not over ! We perform in Nagoya, Japan, where we have a lot of fans. We try to speak Japanese and also sing most of our songs in this language because they are very sensitive to it. I like to go to Japan because it's not far from Korea and fans are very respectful and enthusiastic. It's a bit like home after all.

After the second concert, I take Jimin into town, in secret. It's risky, that's for sure. If the staff finds out, we'll be scolded. But I don't mind, I want us to do, for once, something a little crazy, a little spontaneous. Jimin immediately agrees, so we pretend to go to bed, we get out after half an hour and we catch a cab. Here, as in Seoul, life does not end at night. We go to dinner, have some drinks, go shopping, go for a walk, even go to an amusement park. During this night, I film Jimin. I want to capture his incredible aura, beyond, his natural charm. At first he is a little embarrassed, but quickly gets caught up in the game. He clowns for me, offers me his magic smile. We both spend great hours, carefree, like two lovers living a normal life. Here in Japan, homosexuality is much less taboo than at home, so we aren't afraid to kiss and hold hands. We wear some black hats in order not to be easily recognized. I don't know if we were, at least no one came to bother us. I feel alive, free and happy. I take Jimin by the waist and spin him down the street.

-I feel like we're on honeymoon, I tell him.

-It would be great to do it for real.

-Give me your hand.

He gives it to me and I put my second one on the top.

-Let's promise that we will make a trip, just the two of us, as soon as possible.

-I promise, he says, looking me in the eyes.

-I promise, I say back.

He laughs and climbs on his toes to kiss me.

But we have no time for it. We fly to Singapore, and then back to Seoul to keep working on our next album, which will be out in April. Recordings are not finished. Our days are long, but it's always exciting to be in this creative process. It is mainly our rappers who work on it because they still write and compose the bulk of our songs. They are also very involved in production. I like to watch them work. I learn by observing them.

During my free time, I work out, I try to learn English, but most of all, I edit videos. I asked the director for a studio, as for Nam Joon, Yoongi and Hoseok. I called it the GCF, the Golden Closet Film. I spend more and more time there. I bought a lot of equipment. I learn on my own, as usually. I make films about each of my brothers, based on the shooting I have done on tour. I look for the truth, those small details that make the essence of their unique personalities. These are short films, I carefully choose the music for each of them. I also edit videos I made of Jimin in Japan. I show him in private, so he can see how adorable he is and how much I love him. He looks really happy and congratulates me very much. He encourages me to show my other films to our brothers and they are also very excited. Jin says I should shoot a funny movie for one of our songs. Everyone is excited about this idea. We think of Spine Breaker, so funny song. I promise to think about it.

Unfortunately, our schedule doesn't give us enough time for this kind of parallel project. Especially since before resuming the tour, we fly to the United States again. To take part of the prestigious Grammy Awards in February. This is important for us who have been dreaming of participating for a long time. Especially Nam Joon and Yoongi. They've been thinking about it for ten years now. We are not nominated, but invited to present an award, for the best R'n B album of the year. This is the first time Korean artists have been invited to the Grammys. Nam Joon is particularly pleased to offer the Award to H.E.R, whose work he admires. I love the vibes of this ceremony, the performances of the American stars excite me a lot, I clap my hands and sing with them, sitting in the room. It's a great, emotional moment for me. How lucky I am to be a part of it ! I have tears in my eyes.
