“Jess, I need your help,” I heard on the other end.

“Jay?”

“Yea. Were you asleep?”

“Yea I was”

“Sorry, I’ll call you back.”

“No, I’m up now. What’s up?”

“I want to ask Brea to marry me” I sat straight up in bed.

“What?”

“Yea, I do,” he laughed. I got out of bed so I wouldn’t wake Zayn with my talking.

“Are you serious?” I asked once I was in my room with the door shut.

“I am 1000% serious.”

“Jay! This is great! Wait, what do you need my help with?”

“I don’t know how to do it. I mean should we go to dinner and I ask her there, or should I take her somewhere like maybe a night cruise and ask her when we are on the ocean? I don’t know what to do and you’re a girl so I thought it would be a good idea to ask you.”

“Let me get back to you on this, kay?”

“What are you gonna do?” he asked.

“I’m gonna find out her dream proposal and that’s what you’re gonna do.”

“You’re not gonna give it away that I am gonna ask her, right?”

“Of course not Jay, I have more brains than that,” I laughed.

“Alright, well, be careful and let me know what you find out.”

“I will. Talk to you later.”

“Wait!”

“Yea, Jay”

“Thank you for helping me”

“You’re welcome Jay. Bye” I said before hanging up. I was to awake to go back to sleep, so I threw on some clothes and went downstairs. I grabbed a bagel and sat in the living room flicking on the TV. I flipped through the channels and saw that nothing was on. I got up and put in a movie. I texted Brea, I knew she wouldn’t be up yet, but she would text me later.

To Brea: Hey, what are you up to today?

I put my phone back in my pocket and returned to the movie. The movie was almost over when Tyler walked in.

“Hey, what are you doing up so early?” he asked.

“I had an early phone call wanting some advice and I couldn’t go back to sleep.” He raised his eyebrows. “You can’t say anything, alright? Promise?”

“Of course.”

“Jay wants to ask Brea to marry him,” I said biting my lip. His eyes got wide.

“That’s awesome!” he said and then he laughed.

“What’s funny?”

“There must be something in the water,” he said. “Seems like it’s happening to everyone around here.” I laughed and we watched the end of the movie. My phone dinged and I expected it to be Brea, I was wrong. I laughed and replied to the text.

To Jess: Where are you?

To Zayn: Downstairs with Tyler.

To Jess: Why? It’s so early

To Zayn: I got woken up and couldn’t go back to sleep.

I didn’t get anything back so I figured he went back to sleep. I flipped through the channels to see if something had come on, still nothing. Tyler popped in a movie and we sat together watching it. Twenty minute into the movie, my phone dinged again. This time it was Brea.
