The Threat

I looked around at everyone having their own conversations and wondered if the one I was about to have would be alright or if I would be embarrassed, I was betting on getting embarrassed. Zayn was talking to Harry who was sat on the opposite side of him. As I looked around the table at everyone, Louis turned to me and gave me a look as if he was saying “Out with it…” I smiled at him.

“So, how long have you been dating?” he asked

“A couple days.” I replied. He nodded.

“And?”

“And what?” I asked.

“Well, normally Zayn doesn’t bring his girls around until it’s been a few months.” I gave him a smirk.

“Well, I’m not most girls.”

“Really?” I shook my head. “So, you don’t get jealous, insecure, clingy, whiney, etc.?”

“Not really. My eyes were opened because of the last relationship I was in and I know that I don’t need to be like that anymore. If the guy I am with wants to be with me, he will. And if he doesn’t, then he can be on his way.” I smiled. Zayn stopped his conversation when he heard me mention the last relationship and turned to see what was going on. He heard what we were talking about and smiled at Louis when he heard my answer. Louis returned his smile and looked back at me.

“That’s good. I hope it wasn’t too bad of an experience.” He smiled.

“It was bad, but it wasn’t bad enough to keep me from living my life. It actually gave me a new look on life, which I am thankful for.” Just as I finished my sentence, the waiter brought our food out. We all ate and talked and laughed. We sat there for a good two hours before we all got up and said our goodbyes. Niall, Iris, Zayn, and I went back to our house. When we pulled in the driveway, I noticed my bedroom light was on.

Zayn looked at me.

“Did you leave your light on?” he asked.

“No.” I said shakily. We parked and Niall and Iris pulled in behind us. We all got out of the car and walked to the front door to see it standing wide open.

“The door was locked when we left, yeah?” Niall said. I nodded yes. He was the last one out. He always locks the door.

“You two stay here with Niall. I’ll go check it out.” Zayn said as he walked towards the front door. I grabbed his hand before he got too far away.

“Be careful. If it’s him, he might still be here.” I said.

“It’s okay. I’ll be fine.” He smiled as he kissed my forehead and turned to go inside. We stood outside for what seemed like forever when really it was maybe ten minutes. Zayn came back out and told us it was safe to come in.

“It’s alright. No one else is here now, but I think you need to come to your room.” He said as he looked at me. Nothing in the house was touched except my room. I knew it was him then. All of my clothes were ripped out of my closet and dresser and thrown everywhere.

My mouth dropped open as tears threatened to spill over my eyes. I couldn’t believe he had done this. What the hell was his problem? Was he pissed because I was happy or was he jealous because I had moved on? He had to stop. I didn’t know what to do. That’s when I saw it… I noticed the mirror from one of my dressers lying on the floor almost covered up. I would have found it when I was cleaning and probably wouldn’t have told anyone, so I was thankful that I saw it when they were here. Maybe they could help me figure out what to do. I uncovered the mirror and picked it up to read the writing on it.
