Before anyone knew it, time had passed and it was the day before the wedding. We were sitting around the table having lunch and Iris kept looking between me and Zayn. I laughed at her.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“Trying to figure out if I need to develop some sort of plan so he doesn’t sneak back over here tonight like he did before my wedding,” she said eyeing Zayn. He and I both laughed.
“I don’t think you need to do that,” I laughed.
“I think I can handle staying away tonight,” he told her.
“You sure about that?” she asked.
“Yea, it will be worth it. It will make it that much better when I see her walk down the aisle tomorrow,” he smiled at her and then at me. We finished out lunch and the guys went to pack their things to take to Liam’s. We walked them to the front door before they left. He wrapped me in a hug and looked down at me. I reached up and kissed him. Our lips moved together for a minute before he pulled away. “I love you,” he said smiling.
“I love you more,” I told him. “I know you told her you wouldn’t come back tonight, but promise me you won’t?” I asked.
“I promise I won’t. I want tomorrow to be perfect and that will just make it even better.” He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and smiled. “After tomorrow Tyler will be the only Oakley in the house,” he said with a wink, “You’ll officially be Mrs. Malik.” We smiled at each other.
“I can’t wait,” I said kissing his cheek.
“Okay, okay, you can leave now,” Iris said getting a little aggravated. We laughed and hugged again before he left. I watched and waved until they left the driveway. I walked back in the house and sat on the couch smiling. “What are you smiling at?” she asked.
“Nothing,” I laughed. “Why are you so grumpy today?”
“I didn’t get much sleep last night,” she told me.
“Oh, well who has the babies tonight and tomorrow?” I asked.
“This girl from work knew a really good babysitter, so I called her and we talked and met and I liked her, so they are there. Jay knows them actually, that’s how I decided to let them stay there tonight. The girl that’s watching them is the sister of one of his band mates,” she explained. My phone dinged and I looked at it.
To Jess: On my way to get the dress and then I’ll be there :)
To Brea: awesome! Be careful
After Brea got there with my dress, we put it in the closet at the door and watched movies for a while. We went to bed early that night to make sure we got rest. Brea woke me up the next morning around 9AM. Iris had Stacy come back and do our makeup and hair again. We all sat around the table talking, eating and laughing while she worked on one girl after another until we were all done. She got us all ready and we left for the church. We were in the room in the front, like last time. There was still about twenty minutes before we started and I was getting more nervous with each minute. I tried to stop thinking about everything that could go wrong, but it didn’t work. I looked at Iris.
“I have to talk to him,” I told her. She thought about what to do.
“Hang on one second, okay?” I nodded and she walked out of the room. A minute later she walked back in. “The door stays closed,” she said as she walked away and motioned the girls to the other side of the room.
“Jess, what’s wrong?” I heard him ask and I instantly calmed. I took a breath.
“I keep thinking about everything that could go wrong. As clumsy as I am, I could fall walking down the aisle. What if someone stands up when the priest asks about objections?” I heard him laugh.
