We walked to the car and got in, Niall driving us home.

“Does everyone know why I left?”

“Yea, I told them cause I figured you wouldn’t want to talk about it much tonight,” Tyler told me. I smiled at him.

“Thanks, Ty.” He hugged me from the side and smiled.

“Anything for you, sis.” We drove the rest of the way home in silence.

“We’ll be back in a bit guys,” Zayn told the others before we walked into the kitchen. “Where do you want to go talk? Outside or bedroom?” he asked.

“Outside. I like the air, it helps calm me,” I smiled and he led me outside. I was still wearing shorts, so I took my shoes off and sat on the edge of the pool, sticking my feet in. He sat beside me, just looking at me.

“Are you sure that you are gonna be okay?”

“Yea, I just needed sometime to cry and cool down.” I smiled and looked at him. He grabbed my chin between his thumb and forefinger and pulled me to him, kissing me lightly. I put my hand on his neck and pulled him closer. I felt him smile into the kiss and start to move his lips. I moved my lips against his and he put his hand in my hair, tugging on it lightly causing me to smile against his lips. He pulled back first and smiled at me.

“I love you, you know that right?” he asked, eyeing me carefully. I nodded yes.

“I do know that, and I love you too,” I smiled at him. He looked shocked. “What?”

“You didn’t say ‘I love you more.’ That’s your thing,” he gave me a hurt look, but I knew he was playing. I rolled my eyes and laughed.

“Oh shut up.” His phone dinged and he looked at it. It took a second for him to register what he was seeing. He shook his head like he was trying to clear his head and looked at it again.

“She did not just do that,” he said quietly.

“Who didn’t just do what?” I asked.

“My ex Alli just DM’ed me on Twitter and it wasn’t very nice.”

“What did she say?” I asked. He looked at me.

“I don’t know if you want to see it.” I winced and took a breath.

“It’s okay. I’m fine now. If it has to do with me then show me,” I told him.

“Just so you know, she still hasn’t changed her name from when she and I were dating,” he said before he looked at his phone and up at me before turning the phone where I could see it. I read what she wrote.

DM from @hotcupofmalik:

Zayn, really? It’s not gonna last with her and you know it. It never does, hun. Besides, you’re still mine, remember? So stop playing with that stupid bitch and come back to me. She’s a gold digging whore anyway. Such a slut.

Yea, it hit a nerve but I wasn’t going to let it show right now. I thought I recognized her Twitter name so I looked at it again. “She mentioned me in a tweet earlier. I remember her name,” I looked at him.

“Really?” he asked. I nodded and pulled up my Twitter to show him.

@hotcupofmalik: @zaynmalik Fuck you and everything we had. @Jess_Nicely40, if you think it’s actually gonna happen, then you are just as dumb as those other girls. Stupid bitch!

“Wow, she goes from fuck you to I want you back in one second….” He looked at me with worried eyes. “I’m sorry she’s doing this.”

“It’s alright. I know how exes can be, remember?” I laughed, poking his side trying to get him to smile. He jumped but didn’t smile. “What’s wrong?”
