The next couple of days went by pretty fast and before we knew it, Friday was here. Tyler’s energy was through the rough all day long. I was excited too, but nothing compared to him. The guys had to be there early for sound check, so Iris, Tyler and I got ready and went out to eat before we went to the venue.

We were sitting at a table at Nando’s when I was tapped on the shoulder. I turned around and saw a face I hadn’t seen in years.

“Oh my god, Jay!” I said as I jumped up and hugged him. He swung me around and sat me back on the ground. “What are you doing here?”

“Eating, obviously,” he laughed. I rolled my eyes at him.

“Always the joker I see.”

“Of course, gotta keep things light,” he said winking. I turned and introduced him to Iris and Tyler.

“Jay, this is my best friend Iris and my brother Tyler. Tyler, Iris, this is Jay. He’s an old friend of mine. We met when I was in high school.” They shook hands and exchanged greetings.

“I think I remember you talking about him back then,” Tyler said.

“Probably, he was one of my only friends back then,” I said smiling. “What have you been up to?”

“Well, I’m in a band now. We just got back here to England from a tour.”

“Wow, really? Have I heard of you?”

“Possibly. We are called the Wanted.” I thought about it but I couldn’t recall them.

“Our two biggest hits right now are ‘Chasing the Sun’ and ‘Glad You Came’ if that helps.”

“Oh yea, I know those songs. Awesome! I like your music even though I didn’t know it was you!” I laughed.

“What about you, what are you up to?”

“Well, the shortened version is that I moved here six years ago and I have an amazing boyfriend that is also in a band.” I laughed.

“Have I heard of them?” he asked.

“One Direction?”

“Oh, definitely heard of them. Ha ha. Which one are you dating?”

“Zayn”

“That’s cool. As longs as you’re happy, I’m happy.” He said almost forcing a smile. I wondered what that was about. I would have to ask Tyler if he knew anything later. “Well, you look like you are going out, so I will let you all finish your dinner so you can go. It was good seeing you,” he smiled and hugged me.

“Wait; put your number in my phone so we can keep in touch!” I handed him my phone and he put his number in. I took a quick picture of him and linked it to his number. “Thanks Jay. It was really good to see you! Text me, okay?” I smiled and hugged him again and sat back down. Tyler and Iris were looking at me funny. “What?”

“You have no idea, do you?” Tyler asked.

“Apparently not,” I said confused.

“They are basically enemies,” he laughed.

“Well how was I supposed to know? I didn’t even realize who One Direction was until the day I moved in with them,” I said motioning towards Iris. He just laughed at me and rolled his eyes. We finished our dinner and went to the venue. We parked around back where the guys parked and went in the side door where Paul was waiting. “Hey, Paul, How are you?”
