Back To Reality

We spent the next two weeks doing absolutely nothing, relaxing and spending time with each other. Niall and Iris ended up staying the rest of the vacation too. It was nice just to get away from the buzz of everything that was going on at home, even though a bit of it did follow us at first. Thankfully all of that is over now. We just got back to the house from the airport and put our suitcases in our rooms. I would definitely be glad to have my phone back and not have to have someone text for me, lol. Tomorrow it would be back to reality, but seeing as it will be Saturday; at least I still have two more days before I go back to work. I plopped myself down on the couch and turned on the TV while I waited for everyone else. I flipped to the news and something caught my attention. I yelled for everyone to come and look. It was a story about Ryan. Apparently the whole story had gotten out while we were gone and it was a pretty big deal. I wondered why there were so many paps at the airport when we got home. The story said that he was going to remain locked up until his trial, which they said was Monday. Wonderful. I wondered if I would have to be there. I made a mental note to call the detective tomorrow and ask him. I turned the volume down and looked at the others.

“Do you think you’ll have to go?” Iris asked.

“Most likely. I’m gonna call the detective tomorrow and ask him,” I told her.

“You won’t go alone,” Zayn said looking at me. “I won’t let you be in the same room with him unless me, one of the guys or Paul is with you. It’s too risky. I know how unstable he was at the club when I talked to him and who knows if he’s gotten worse or not.” I nodded my head and smiled at him.

“Alright, what about a movie night to relax before we go to bed?” Niall asked. We all nodded in agreement and he went to pick out a movie. He popped it in before telling us what it was, so I was sure it was a scary movie. I was so wrong. He surprised us all and picked a comedy, Pitch Perfect. I had wanted to see this for a while.  We all laughed through the whole movie. It was great and just what I needed to lift my spirits a bit. I stood up and stretched.

“I think I am gonna go lie down,” I said as I walked to the stairs. I headed upstairs and changed into some comfy pajamas and climbed in my bed. I lay there thinking about everything that has happened in the past six months or so, ever since Ryan put me in the hospital the first time. I felt tears sting my eyes and quickly wiped them away. I shouldn’t think about him, but since we went on vacation, I couldn’t stop thinking about everything that’s happened recently. I know everything happens for a reason, but why did I have to get pregnant? I could have done without that entire situation happening. I heard footsteps and turned to see Zayn walk in and sit on the edge of the bed.

“You alright?” he asked wiping away the tears that had escaped. I sniffled and smiled at him.

“Yea, I’ll be fine.”

“I didn’t ask if you will be okay, I asked if you were okay now.” I turned back over and more tears fell out. He turned me around and lay beside me, hugging me close to him. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” I lied. He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and kissed my cheek.

“I know your lying.”

“I just feel like something is wrong.” He looked confused.

“What do you mean? Did someone say or do something?”

“No, I mean with me. I feel like there is something wrong with me.”

“Why would you think that?”

“Because of all of the stuff that’s happened in the past month. It almost feels like I’m being punished.” I said through shaky breaths.

“What would ever be punished for?” he asked, trying to understand what I was thinking. I took a deep breath because I knew he would be upset or hurt by what I was gonna say.
