We headed back to the house to find Niall in the same spot as when we left.

“Ohmygod, Niall, seriously?” I said. He turned to see us walking in with my bags of clothes.

“What? Like I have anything better to do.” I laughed and headed upstairs to put my new clothes up. Zayn was behind me, so I assumed he was going to his room.

“Thanks for going with me. I probably wouldn’t have bought anything if I had gone alone,” I said as I sat the bags on the floor beside my bed.

“Really? Why is that?” He said, leaning on the door.

“Ryan always put me down, so whenever I went shopping I either bought things that looked completely opposite from what I bought today or I left with nothing.” I said, sitting on the bed. He nodded.

“Right, well, you don’t have to worry about that happening anymore, and I guess you will be doing a lot more shopping.” He laughed as he turned to go to his room. I laughed and started putting my new clothes away. Once I finished, I sat on my bed and pulled out my laptop. I wanted to check my email before I went out to the pool to relax a bit. I had one from my parents, a couple from some friends, a few more were just junk mail, and the last one actually shocked me. It was from Ryan. I was scared to open it. He was either trying to apologize profusely and get me back or he was gonna do what he did best; put me down. I replied to my parents and friends first, and then I slowly moved the mouse over his email and clicked. Figures… he was putting me down more harshly than he ever had.

To: Me (Jess-nicely40@gmail.com)

You stupid bitch! What the fuck do you think you are doing leaving me?? I was the best thing that ever happened to you! You are a disgusting, pathetic slut. I hope you are happy with your new life, you fat, ugly whore. You know they don’t like you; they just pity you because you are so pathetic. Oh, and just so you know I’ve been cheating on you from the beginning.

I couldn’t believe what I was reading. It felt like I had stopped breathing. I took a deep breath and the tears just began to fall uncontrollably. Zayn must have heard me. He stuck his head in the door to see if I was ok. When he saw me sobbing on the bed staring at the computer, he walked over and sat beside me to see what was going on. He read the email.

“Look, you know he’s lying. Everyone here has already agreed to that. Don’t worry about what he says. He doesn’t matter anymore, right?” I barely nodded in agreement and he hugged me to try to calm me down. I pushed the laptop away and slid closer. I didn’t know why Ryan still had this effect on me. I knew I was through with him, but I couldn’t help it. I guess I just got too used to it. I just sat there crying, my head on Zayn’s chest for I don’t know how long. It felt like forever. I lifted my head up and looked at him thankfully.

“Sorry for crying so much and thanks,” I laughed. He shook his head.

“Don’t worry about it. You alright now?”

“Yea, I don’t know why I let him get to me. It’s not like he’s in my life anymore.” I shook my head. “Thanks for sitting with me.”

“You’re welcome, and you’re sure you’re alright” I nodded.

“Yea, I’m good. I think I’m gonna go down to the pool for a bit.” I smiled, “please don’t say anything to Iris about the email”

“I wouldn’t think of it” He smiled as left my room. I stood up and looked for a swim suit so I could get to relaxing at the pool. I found my favorite one and changed and quickly braided my hair. I grabbed a towel, my sunglasses and slipped on my sandals before heading downstairs.
