A New Beginning

Girl Talk

 “I’m not mean, Jess” He laughed.

“Right, so you threw me in the pool with all my clothes on because you are nice?”

“No, I threw you in the pool because you made me chase you” He said as he slid closer. My heart beat sped up.

“You didn’t have to chase me” I whispered

“I did.”

“Why did you have to?”

“Because I was having fun tickling you, hearing you laugh and you made me stop.” I was tensed up. He was so close. I didn’t know what to do. “I have to confess something.” He said before he leaned close to my ear. “You’re different, and I really like you” he whispered, sending chills down my spine. I took a deep breath. He leaned back and looked at me. He was still close, so close that our noses touched. I took another deep breath and leaned up to his ear and whispered, “I really like you too,” and sat back. He looked at me and touched his nose to mine. He lightly brushed his lips across mine, causing me to close my eyes and shudder against him. I snaked my hand up to the back of his neck and crashed my lips to his. We stayed like that for a minute before he moved his lips against mine. We moved our lips in sync and he wrapped his arms around me. I put my other hand in his hair, messing it up I’m sure. We kissed for what seemed like forever, but was really maybe ten minutes.

“We should slow down” I laughed.

“Yea, I think so too.” He said. He seemed like he was thinking for a minute before he spoke again, “So… does this mean you’ll be my girlfriend?” he said smiling at me. I blushed before I spoke.

“Yea, I will, but you have to promise me something.”

“Anything”

“Don’t be like him, ever” He reached up and put his hand on my cheek.

“I would never do that on purpose. If I do something that offends you, just tell me and we’ll take care of it” he smiled. I nodded. He put his arm back around me and I leaned my head on his shoulder. We sat there for a while looking at the sky and the stars.

“You ready to head back? I’m sure Iris will want to talk to you before she goes to bed.” He laughed.

“Yea, she will, especially now.” I laughed. We went back to the car and drove home. We got out of the car and walked in the house. Niall was in the living room alone, weird.

“Where’s Iris?” I asked. He laughed like I should know where she was.

“In your room waiting for you to get back.” I rolled my eyes and looked at Zayn.

“Figures.” I said, “Well, you tell him, I’ll go talk to her.” He nodded.

“Tell me what?” Niall asked.

“I’ll tell you in a second. I’m just gonna go change real fast.” Zayn went to his room and changed and headed back downstairs. I walked in my room to see Iris on my bed watching TV waiting for me. She jumped up when she saw me. I held my hand up to stop her.

“Let me change then I will tell you everything.” She laughed, nodded and sat back down on the bed.  I threw on my Jack Wills sweat shorts and tank and put my hair up in a quick pony tail. I grabbed my vampire slippers and my Union Jack blanket that my parents had given me before I left. I shut the door and turned the radio on, just in case someone tries to listen in.

I sat on the bed with Iris and she just stared at me.

“Well, are you gonna say anything?” she asked.

“I figured you had questions to ask” I laughed.
