goodbye Steve.

Peter knocked on the door infront of him standing there anxiously, if he was being honest, Peter was afraid to see his pops, especially after what he did to dad. Peter was angry, scared, sad. Sad that this family he had gotten after years of fighting for it was being ripped apart infront of him.

The door opened and reveled a man he hadn't met yet, the man stared at him waiting for Peter to say something.

"Um I'm here to see my da- um Steve."

The man nodded and moved out of the way to let Peter walk inside. "He's the second door down the hallway."

Peter nodded thanking the older man and made his way to the room, knocking on the door again. 

"Come in"

Peter hesitated but opened the door and saw his pops sitting on a bed, just bruised up a bit, basically nothing compared to his dad. Peter stared at him analyzing him, he knew deep down Steve wouldn't but he had to make sure he wasn't going to attack him out of no where just like how he attacked his father and left him to die. His Spidey sense was going off just a bit as he stood there.

Before he could say anything Steve noticed him "Peter?" He stood up to walk over to his son but immediately stopped when Peter backed away from him, Steve's heart broke into a million pieces when he saw the flash of fear in Peter's eyes. His own son was afraid of him.

After a beat of silence Peter finally spoke "I just wanna say, before you assume anything, dad doesn't know I'm here. So he didn't tell me to say anything. I'm here because I wanted to talk before...before you leave."

Steve nodded letting him know to continue.

"When I saw dad come home, it was terrifying, he was almost dead, but then I look at you and it's like you barely even got hit. I just wanna know why, why you're choosing someone else over your family."

Peter finally looked up at Steve and made eye contact.

"You promised me, the day you guys got me we'd be together, that nothing would separate us. You lied."

Steve felt like he'd just been stabbed, because he did lie, he lied and hurt two of the most important people in his life.

Peter continued "so why'd you do it?"

Steve sighed sitting back down on the bed "because, I had no other choice-"

"You had no other choice? You could have sat down like adults and discussed this! But instead you guys decided to fight it out!"

"There’s a lot you don't understand, son-"

"Oh I understand plenty, I understand you'd rather punch your way out and choose someone else over your family."

Steve stared at him in stunned silence, he saw the hurt look on his sons face and he felt horrible.

Peter made his way back to the door and opened it, before leaving he turned to Steve "Goodbye, Steve." And left.

Goodbye Steve. Steve. No pops, no dad, just Steve. He had lost that title.
