It was about 5 am when Tony walked into the compound living room and saw Peter sitting at the couch staring at the ground, his knees to his chest. Tony frowned another nightmare.

Tony hated that Peter would have such horrible nightmares, nightmares about everyone he loves dying, things that happened to him. If Tony could take away all the nightmares and pain from Peter he would do it in a heartbeat, but he couldn't, for now all he could do was comfort his kid.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Peter felt like he couldn't breathe he felt like he was drowning , his movements were slow. He looked towards the sky, or what he at least thought was the sky, and waited. Waited for anyone to come save him, no one came but he heard talking. He turned and looked into the darkness of the lake.

The darkness over came him and all he could see was black. He squinted and saw two figures in front of him, he knows them. Mom and dad. They get closer but there's barely a resemblance of their faces, it's all blurry and messed up. He turns to face his mother and struggles to make out her features, then suddenly there's a booming voice from behind.

'You don't remember what she looks like?!'

There's voices, there's sounds of sirens, screaming, it's too loud.

His faceless mother and father reach towards him and Peter is scared, he's terrified.

The voice speaks again in a mocking tone 'just make something up!'

Their faces contorted into unbelievable things, scary things that Peter had no idea what they were. The sounds were getting louder and they kept reaching towards him.

Then they grabbed him.

Peter woke up shooting upright, he gasped for air and wiped the sweat from his brow. He stared at his hands and felt tears sting his eyes.

'You don't remember what she looks like?!'

He let the tears fall glaring at his blanket that was now thrown off his bed in his panic. Finally leaving the blanket alone he stands from his bed and walked out of his room, he couldn't be in there right now.

He found his way to the compound living room and sat on the couch.

'You don't remember what she looks like?!'

'You don't remember what she looks like?!'

'You don't remember what she looks like?!'

Peter took a shakey breath and let his face rest in his hands while he held back the urge to cry. He sighed and looked up and stared at the floor. He couldn't think of anything else to do.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Tony slowly walked over to Peter and sat down next to him "hey underoos.." Peter glanced at him and gave the older man a pained smile.

Tony saw the smile and felt his heartbreak. His kid shouldn't have to feel like this.

"It's pretty late Pete, what are you doing up?"

Peter shrugged and avoided eye contact. "Couldn't sleep."

Tony nodded "did you have a bad dream?"

Peter didn't move, didn't say anything. He closed his eyes and sighed. "Yeah.."

Tony frowned again "wanna talk about it?"

One thing about Peter is he never talks about his nightmares, when he does it's either on accident or Tony asked the right questions to get it out of him, but something that surprised Tony is when Peter nodded a 'yes'.

Tony nodded "alright, go ahead when you're ready.." he made sure to speak in a soft tone while placing a hand on the kids shoulder and giving a quick reassuring squeeze to let Peter know it was ok.

Peter nodded and felt his eyes start to sting with tears again while he thought about it.
"I'm scared, I'm scared I'm going to forget what my parents look like..that I'm gonna forget them. I barely even remember them Tony. What if I just completely forget? I don't- I don't want to forget them"

Peter couldn't stop the tears that escaped his eyes, he then felt an arm wrap around him and pull him close. Tony held Peter in his arms while he cried "I know you don't bud, I know it's hard." Tony stopped because he knew Peter wanted to say more.

"Everytime I have dreams about mt parents I can't, I can't remember them, I can't remember what they look like and then everyone is yelling at me because I forgot. And their faces-" the kid let out a quiet sob and Tony held him tighter while he rubber comforting circles on Peter's back.

"Their faces always get distorted and they look terrifying, I don't wanna remember them like that"

Tony sighed "I know kid, I'm sorry you have to see that, but no ones mad at you, no one will be mad that you can't exactly remember what they look like, we can get our hands on some pictures and look through them if you'd like?"

Peter nodded, he wanted to do that for awhile now, but he was scared. He didn't exactly really know why he was scared of the idea of seeing his parents faces. Maybe he was scared because then the people yelling and screaming would have the faces of his parents. He'd be able to recognize them.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Hours passed while Tony held his kid on the couch, they sat in a comfortable silence till Peter feel asleep, Tony had layed him down on the couch, he moved the curly bits of hair off Peter's forehead and left towards the kitchen to 1 call May and 2 get coffee.
