Tony really didn't want to talk to Steve, but here he was, standing on the porch to his lakehouse asking for his help to bring everyone back from the snap, but Tony couldn't do it, he couldn't risk anymore lives.
Then Steve messed up "it's not like you lost anyone in this so you wouldn't understand Stark."
Tony snapped, because he did lose someone and Steve had no right to say that.
"I did lose someone Rogers. I lost my kid. You have no right to tell me that I don't understand, I had to watch my son dust away in my arms and there was nothing I could do to stop it. So yes Steve. I do understand and I can't risk losing more people that I care about."
There was a stunned silence and Natasha realized who he was talking about, Peter.
Steve looked up at Tony "I'm sorry."
Tony only nodded in response and they left.
