Vormir

Tony and Peter had made it to Vormir, it was a strange planet but it was also very beautiful. The way up the mountain was filled with silence and a feeling of dread. They finally made it to the top where they were met with some red guy, that's what Tony had called him, Peter thought it was funny.

Redskull wandered over to them "Welcome, Peter, son of Mary. Tony, son of Howard."

Tony was the first to speak "ok listen here, we gotta get a stone back and head out." Red skull nodded while he drifted away, the two heroes following him.

"I am a guide to what you desperately want. The soul stone."

Tony nodded while he looked around "nice, good. So just hand it over and we can go."

Redskull chuckled quietly "oh If only it were that easy.." Peter finally spoke, he glanced at Tony then Redskull "what do you mean?"

He continued to walk till he was at the cliff, he looked down and back at the two standing before him. They hesitantly followed and looked how far down the cliff went. It went pretty far down.

"What you seek lies in front of you... as does what you fear." Peter crossed his arms "so the stone is down there then?"

Tony placed his hands on his hips glaring at Redskull "well then, care to elaborate?"

He sighed "For one of you. For the other... In order to take the stone, you must lose that which you love. An everlasting exchange. A soul, for a soul."

Their hearts dropped. Tony grabbed Peter and pushed him away from the cliff and Redskull, he started walking from where they came from. Peter pushed him back "We can't leave-"

Tony shook his head "no. There has to be another way. A way where no one dies." Peter stopped in his tracks while Tony still tried to push him. "Tony." He was using his serious voice. "We have too. We have to do this."

Tony stared at his kid, fear clearly in his eyes. "Ok." Peter nodded "alright-" before he could finish Tony pushed Peter to the ground far away and started running towards the cliff. Peter shot a web at Tony and pulled him back.

"What do you think your doing?!" Tony turned and tried to free himself from the web "Sorry kid, but I'm not letting you do this." Peter shook his head and tugged the web harder making Tony fall to the ground "I'm not letting you do it either!" He started running towards the cliff, Tony panicked and did the only thing he could, he fired at Peter causing him to fall over, he grabbed his shoulder and hissed in pain.

"Oh come on!!" Tony stood up and stood in front of him "I'm sorry kid, I really am" Peter stood up and looked at Tony with pleading eyes. He then shot a web at Tonys legs and pulled so he fell, Peter launched himself off the cliff. Tony yelled and grabbed Peter by the wrist before he fell.

"PETER! Let- let me pull you up. Please."

Peter shook his head "I can't let you do that." Tony held on tighter to the kid "Peter" his voice was shakey and tears threatened to spill "I can't lose you."

Peter looked up at Tony tears already falling down his face, he smiled sadly "and the world can't lose Ironman. They need you Tony."

Tony shook his head "I need you alive Peter. Please." Peter stared at him, he shook his head again.

"it's ok, let me go"

Tony finally let the tears fall. "I can't, Peter please-"

"I'm sorry" one last tearful smile was the last thing he saw when Peter kicked the cliff wall which forced his wrist out of Tony's hand. "NO!" he was gonna fly down after him, but he was too late. Peter had fallen to the ground, blood surrounded him and he layed still. A boom in the sky and he wasn't there anymore.

He was in a pool of water and had the stone in his hand, he glared at it before breaking down into sobs. Then his quantum suit actived, he stood there on the platform with the others, stone in hand. They had all the stones.

Bruce was the first to break the silence "did we get them all?" Rhodey looked over at Bruce, doubt on his face "you telling me this'll actually work?"

His question went unanswered when Bruce had realized. He looked over at Tony, worry evident on his face "Tony, where's Peter?"

Tony didn't answer. He stood there, silent tears falling down his face. That told them everything they needed to know. Peter was gone. Steve leaned against the platform whispering to himself "oh god..."

Even though they all knew the answer, Tony looked up, his eyes landed on Steve, he couldn't bear to look at all of them. "I lost the kid.."
