When the 'blip' happened, thousands and thousands of people across the world disappeared, they turned to dust and floated away, never to be seen again. Peter was only 10 years old when he heard his father were one of those people who disappeared and would never come back. It destroyed him. Pepper had held him all night while he cried and called out for his father but he knew he wasn't going to come back.

Pepper had become like a mother to him, they stayed at the Avengers compound where the remaining few who survived the blip also stayed. Steve, Bruce, Natasha, Carol and Clint. That was it. They made their own family, a family that sticks together and will do anything to get the people they lost back, even if it seemed impossible. They'd do whatever it takes.

5 years had passed. 5 long years.

Peter was 15 now. He was Spider-Man now. Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man that stopped petty crimes and bank robberies, the hero that stood up for the little guy. Peter's life was going great. He had his friends, his family, but there was not a single day where he didn't miss his father. He knew Tony wasn't going to come back from the blip, he was gone but Peter couldn't accept that, he couldn't stop hoping.

So when he came home from a long day at school he didn't expect anyone to be home. Pepper was at some SI meetings, the rest of the Avengers were on a mission so for today he had the private floor to himself.  If Peter was being honest, he hated being alone, he absolutely hated it.

Not a second later before he placed his backpack near the couch he heard the elevator ding and start moving up. Something felt off.

No one is supposed to home. Not till later.

Finally the elevator stopped and slowly opened and Peter felt his heart drop to his stomach, he froze, not in fear, but in shock.

"Dad?"

Tony stood in the elevator, staring at Peter. Analyzing him.

"Peter?"

Peter slowly nodded, tears already spilling down his face while he walked over to his father slowly, like he was a wild animal and any wrong move would scare him off. When Peter stood infront of his dad he hugged him, he hugged him tightly and let out a quiet sob.

Tony felt like his world was just flipped upside down while he held his teenage son in his arms, last time he saw Peter was 10. 10 years old, but Tony still held him close, he still pressed a kiss to his sons forehead and whispered reassurances to calm him down.

Peter pulled away still holding on to his father's arms like he'd dissappear if he were to let go.

"Dad, I missed- I missed you...so much, oh my god... it's been 5 years... you were gone for 5 years..."

The older man's eyes widened and he pulled his son back into a tight hug. He was never leaving again. No matter what. Not even Thanos could get rid of him.

"I'm never leaving again, you hear that Bambi? I'm never leaving."

Peter nodded, his face still hidden in his fathers chest.
---
Peter would never call his father a lair and Peter knew he made so many sacrifices, for him, for the whole universe.

So instead of feeling angry as he stood next to Pepper, watching the arc reactor float on the pond with a reef of flowers, deep down he felt pride for his father, his father, Tony Stark had sacrificed his life for the universe.
