Smoke Signals

Everyone had told Tony that Peter was dead. That he was gone forever, a lost cause. Tony refused to believe that his kid was dead, that his kid, his 15 year old kid, had died on a mission. Peter was going to come home.

He had too, because if he didn't, Tony wouldn't know what to do. He needs the kid. His kid. It had been 2 weeks, no messages, no sign that he was alive, nothing, but Tony still would send a message, every night for Peter to receive.

When you're ready

He didn't care that they were never read, he didn't care that they were never answered because he knew someday they would, he knew that someday Peter would come back, he'd come back alive and well.

So Tony waited and waited and waited. He stayed at the compound, refusing to leave incase Peter found his way back.

I left the gate unlocked for you

Everyone else had moved on, but Tony couldn't, he refused. He couldn't move on, no matter what. His mind would not accept that Peter wasn't coming back or that he was dead.

He'd send all the messages he needed to let Peter know he was still there.

'Til then I'm sendin' out smoke signals

But Tony wished, that one day, he'd receive a message back from Peter. Just one day he'd wake up and it'd be there and F.R.I.D.A.Y would read it to him and everything would be ok.

Hopin' I'll see yours too

He'd get his kid back, no matter what. 4 weeks, 28 days, 672 hours, 40,320 minutes and he finally got a message back.

Damn. 🧎 I finished watching all the mcu movies and I feel empty and I've been listening to this song on repeat so yeah❤ I had to write angst lol might draw art for this one shot 🧍‍♂️ALSO HEY IMPORTANT i have tons of drafts before this so if these are ever uploaded all weird and out of order that's why cuz most of these are drafts I finish later but by the time I finish it there's already more drafts infront of it lol
