Everyone knew that Peter Benjamin Parker was smart. Insanely smart almost Tony Stark level of smart, but sometimes, he had his moments.
A better explanation was that Peter was book smart but sometimes common sense was out of the question. Peter could build computers and solve difficult math problems in the span of 5 minutes, but for the life of him he couldn't use his common sense.
Like the one time he was late for school so instead of rushing downstairs he jumped out of his window and climbed down the wall which he most definitely did get hurt from.
Or the time he named an ant he found outside Peter because 'now I won't forget the name since we have the same name now! Unless I forget my name...that would suck if I forgot my name I kinda like my name Mr. Stark'

There's also that one time where Ned told him a funfact he had found out.
"Did you know a crayon can burn for like 30 minutes in an emergency? It's pretty cool but I don't know why you would have a box of crayons-"
Peter interrupted Ned, a confused look on his face "how long will the crayon burn if it's not an emergency?"
Ned stared at Peter, analyzed every inch of him to make sure Peter was joking, but he wasn't, he wasn't joking at all. He was serious.
Ned couldn't even comprehend the question, he loved Peter he really did but sometimes he could be a bit dim, that doesn't mean that Ned thought Peter was an idiot but he knew he just had his moments.
"No Peter, it's gonna burn for 30 minutes no matter what.."
Peter nodded and a had a look on his face like Ned had just told him the answer to becoming immortal "oooooh that makes more sense"
Ned couldn't help but smile at Peter.

Peter and MJ walked through the elevator at the tower, the team looked up at them and saw MJ laughing while Peter's face was bright red, he looked extremely embarrassed.
Clint looked at the two then to MJ "what happened?"
The question caused MJ to laugh more which gained all the Avengers attention, once she pulled herself together she finally spoke.
"Peter and I were on a walk and we were at the park, we passed a tree and I saw a dead bird so I said 'oh look a dead bird' and-"
She started laughing and Peter crossed his arms and pouted.
MJ calmed herself down "and Peter looked up at the sky and asked 'where' oh my god" she laughed again and then everyone else in the room started laughing while Peter stood there extremely embarrassed.
