Tony never really had a favorite color, everytime a child at an interview would ask he'd just think of a random color on the spot, he never thought about, it wasn't important to him.
So when Peter randomly asked him he shrugged and looked at the kid "take a guess"
Peter glanced at Tony and back to the tech he was working ont to think, then he turned to Tony with an unsure expression on his face "Red?"
Tony couldn't say no, so he smiled "yep, you got it"
And the smile Peter had on his face is something that Tony would never forget. Tony found it amazing how the tiniest things could make Peter so happy, he loved that about the kid.
Tony had one favorite color, everytime a child at an interview would ask he'd say 'red', he never thought about, it was the most important thing to him, the color red, because it reminded him of Peter, his kid. It reminds him of red flowers Peter would be so happy to see when they walked around NYC, it reminded him of the red shades in the sky when the sun was setting and the two would watch it from the tower roof, it reminded him of the suit the kid would wear while swinging through buildings and streets, it reminded him of Peter's cheeks when he was embarrassed or being praised and he'd get so flustered about it, it reminded him of the lightsabers on the TV when they had movie night, it reminded him of the mug on his desk that Peter had gotten him that said 'world's best dad' with dad crossed out and replaced with 'mentor'. The color red reminded Tony of so many things and it all lead back to one person.
His son, Peter.
